A useful little program. I had trouble finding something for Linux and Wine opens up a whole new world of headaches. This builds just fine with Allegro 4.
Usage tips: When loading BMPs, the program will crash when loading files of the BMP-type "Windows 95/NT4 and newer format" such as produced with a GIMP export. Open and re-save with GrafX2 and you will get "Windows 3.x format" which SPRedit will accept. | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 26 November 2010
An now I made+uploaded a .deb package, and it was tested: installs flawlessly, and is working fine in Ubuntu Linux 10.10 , and hopefully in other versions too including Debians.
Of course this package is now available at Sourceforge too, and you still find the PDF documentation there.

I made some minor modifications to make SPRedit work in Linux as expected (e.g. OS cursor enabled)..
I uploaded the file, you can see in the list.
In the new archive 'SPRedit-for-linux.zip' the executable can be found in 'binary' folder called SPRedit , and it requires allegro library (liballegro) installed on the system to run.
The source folder contains the source code, icons, and a linux-makefile which can be used to compile and set correctly with menu entry and programicon.

Thanks to Werdy, who compiled SPRedit 1.0 on MacOSX, you can find the binary pack and the MacOSX-compatible source pack with Mac allegro framework and makefile included :) Link is still:

(I couldn't upload the MacOSX dmg here at CSDB, because it's bigger than 1Mbyte. On request I can upload in parts.)
Linux binary is coming soon for Debian and Puppy, as soon my GRUB in MBR can be renovated. (It was destroyed by WinXP reinstallation recently, and GRUB installer cannot write it, lol. :):) | User Comment Submitted by FMan on 9 August 2010
Cool, but for me all I need is SPRDEF. ;-)

Thanks for adding me as tester ;)
I must admit that my testing this time was partly saying "bloody awesome", partly "man that's some serious stuff" as feats became expanded in newer test versions but hey - what a nice and fluent-worx GFX tool it became at the end! :) | User Comment Submitted by Cobra/Samar on 8 August 2010 User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 8 August 2010
NICE! This is like P1, but for sprites! now what to do with the finished boss?? ;) | User Comment Submitted by Hermit on 8 August 2010 User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 8 August 2010

Since 1-2 weeks I'm working hard on this tool, and now I feel time has come to release an 1.0 version...
Originally I wanted something simple, for an upcoming release which will contain overlay-sprites. Unfortunately I couldn't find a suitable tool to edit overlay multisprites.
The source is included in the program's folder, only one c++ source file that uses allegro.
(Good luck for Linux users on compilation....)
