Same here with the 1581 version. My 1581 has JiffyDOS as well (which can't be turned off...?!). I even tried to replace the ROM chip, but it didn't work with the original 1581 ROM neither. The image has been transfered with 1581Disk Utility V0.1, which obviously transfered the image successfully, and worked fine with other D81s. So for me, the D81 version works in VICE only (2.1 and 2.2.7).

Couldn't get 1581 version to work with my jiffydos enabled 1581 drive. Intro starts ok but after hitting space nothing happens.
