That is no packed picture. The code draws the polygons of the picture one by one for real. And, yes, the polygons themselves are precomputed by a custom PC tool that is not part of the release and honestly has been the toughest part to make. :)
Both the code and the tool can still be further optimized, therefore I might come up with something better next time. | User Comment Submitted by Twoflower on 2 May 2010 User Comment Submitted by snerg on 8 April 2010 User Comment Submitted by Edhellon on 7 April 2010
@PAL: it's a .d64 with all entries, it's the third file on the disk.
I've only looked at it very briefly, but I think it's actually really polygons drawn (with precalced coords, but no compressed picture) before the start, so kudos for that. :) | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 6 April 2010
I get the wrong file when download? I get the one with the squares telling a story? | User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 6 April 2010
i'm curious too, whether it's a renderer or simple polygon filler. | User Comment Submitted by Burglar on 6 April 2010
if it is, its awesome. if its not, nice try lol | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 6 April 2010
can I have some technicial details on this one? Is it really a procedrual graphic? I mean do you calculate 3d shapes and draw polygons? or are polygon coordinates calculated and do you just draw the polygons? or is it just a compressed graphic which looks like a procedural generated one? :) |
