I just clicked the download-link and it immediatly run in Vice, without renaming or whatever... and even if I just save as Sim&;rct.d64 and double-click it then, it runs fine in Vice without renaming, selecting etc.
So TWW, before complaining about, check if the problem is not sitting in front of the monitor... (c;

and yes, D64 or at least T64-format to preserve the filename. PRG-files do not preserve original filename, didn't you know? :D

beside that, nice grafix and musix! (:

Yeah the rules... I should read the rules someday...

This particular release you have to download, rename, mount, select file and watch instead of download and watch directly...

tbph: If someone released a 12k demo on an otherwise empty disk I doubt people would put that disk by itself into their disk-collection back in the days.

Why do it now? coz some petscii-"art"?

To my knowledge there is a seperate entry for petscii stuff if people feel they need to do that stuff.

Just saying...

CSDb rule V.7.4: if possible, use D64 Images when uploading C64 files. (you can ZIP d64 files if you wish to save some bandwidth). please refrain from using plain binaries (.prg files) and use D64 even for single file releases - this is a measure to preserve the original filename(s). Other kinds of emulator images that also preserve the original filenames (like T64 and P00) are ok too, but still consider converting them to D64 - or atleast do not create new ones. By all means avoid zipcode/sixpack/lynx files, they are a pain to deal with.

@TWW: WhyTF not? Get faster connection or buy bigger harddisc..

The weirdo file name messes up the file-extension when dwnld. rename and it's ok. Then again, why stuff it in a disk-image instead of a .prg file? (170k vs 12k)
