From the "Maxx Out!!" series of imported games published by Epyx.
Ohio Valley, USA swapper with former membership in a few of the very few WV-based cracking groups. I had minimal greater-scene presence and any releases that I was involved with are amateur-tier and never made it further west than Cincinnati, Ohio to my knowledge. I was 10 when I got started and by the time I was old enough for people to take me seriously I jumped ship to the Amiga.
I was a huge scene "fanboy", I guess you could say, and took notes on who all the group members were, where they were from, who was getting greeted, release dates, etc. I very early on began to get the sense of what releases were more rare than others and intentionally collected what others would scratch or pass by. I met a Pittsburgh mega-swapper in 86 named "GCB" who traded hardware for wares and picked up huge shipping crates full of disks at a New Jersey dock. His knowledge of the scene and gigantic wares lists helped me a lot.
I always sought out the obscure and I still do. These days I preserve and catalog lost wares and gather and fill out release, group and scener info wherever I can. I'm 100% into helping other collectors and expanding release lists and biographies, especially North American ones, which in many cases are in dire need of help.
I do not keep any wares or info to myself that are not of a private nature. I dont hold anything back unless CSDb doesnt want it. Anything I find or that you send me that's appropriate for CSDb will be posted (eventually).
My Db Entries
I rely on the generosity and hard work of software preservationists such as those at Scenebase, Gamebase. and collections uploaded to Assembly64. I've also found things all over the internet and even in collections as picked-over as Arnold. I try to make it clear in the file name where I found something. If there is no collection name that usually indicates it's my own rip.
I love all wares but I get most excited about North American scene releases from 82 - 93 and NTSC releases and fixes from any year. I am very, very interested in disks from Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia because I have lost a lot of cool local stuff, including stuff made by people who are now deceased. I'm also into public domain games and ephemera that will never see CSDb (unless it gets released by Swimmers).
Some specific, known groups:
West Virginia: UltraSoft Pirating Inc. - The G-Force - The Osium Crew
Western Pennsylvania: Radiation Area - Desired Cracking Force - Federal Cracking Crew - The Foundation League - Ice Pirates Inc. - The Importing Homeboyz - Totally Unlame Pirates
Ohio: The Kender Crew - The Hood Works - The Cool Cats - Night Shift Rippers - Pirates Inc. - The Bones Brigade - The Federation - Tron-Soft Software - The Last Breed - Your Worst Nightmare
