I didn't take this out of the compo.
Maybe Didi did because there's a second version ? Anyways... vote for the same (or higher ;) ) for the second version please.

I'd not totally disconnect this version from the compo. why not leave it "Released At ICC2014" but "outside competition"?

Great gfx! Don't care if it's converted. Converting something to look great on c64 is an art in itself.

It's next to impossible to use any gfx from Internet, especially cliparts, that JSL did not use before, as long as noone claims to have done sth himself he actually didn't: so what ^^

JSL, I see nothing wrong in creative use of external references and materials. Especially if it's as nice as this hires. I sense a butthurt, to be honest ;)

Lemming: Why is my comment "ridiculous" as I just wanted to point out, that I made in 2013 a graphic, with the same Skull, with signature JSL/and DragoArt. In the end, someone else finds something cool on the net, and does a graphic of it, and perhaps I have pixeled that before. If you would have done a graphic, and the same thing appears here on the db, you won't say nothing about it? No offensive, years back I stole things from the web, others can do the same, like in this case.

Very nice overall design and style and good music by Toggle. The howling wolves are just great!

ROM font is okay to use imho. Doesn't look too bad here. Of course you could use another vic bank and have half a charset free (vicbank+$000 to vicbank+$3ff).

Besides the already mentioned $d016 setting my complaint would be:
* you rely on memory init with #$00. If you use "configure memory" with RR it inits with #$BD and you have a few wrong bytes on your pic:

Anyway: really cool and stylish intro.

Excellent, and the coloring of the hires image is somehow very pleasing to my eye. JSL's "critique" on this one is ridiculous, sorry dude but that's just how it is.

Very cool, I really like this. And there's nothing wrong with using the old cbm font :)

ain't no better font than CharROM, so no complaints about that :)

great atmo, esp great tune, flashin of border should have been done somewhat differently. as it is, you clearly see the rastersplit where $D016 is switched into 38 colums mode

pretty good all in all though

Wow! What a nice and very atmospheric intro, I like the style... And about the memory/font problems, you could have maybe placed the font in the last 50 chars of the bitmap, it is not used anyway :-) Or maybe have some of the code in the top-right black field of the bitmap, that would also have been fun :-)

XIII: I saw the graphic and couldn't resist to add the comment. I read the scroller now. Reason for me not uploading as fast, if I pixeled this Skull, many graphics appear in my folders, and I hardly can upload each single day.. Almost at 600 unreleased graphics.. Nice intro btw! ;)

@bugjam; I made a custom 1x1 font but ran out of memory :(

screen 0400 - 0800
code 0810 - 0d57
sprites: 0e00 - 0fff
music: 1000 - 1ed8
hires: 2000-3fab

Pretty atmospheric and different; would have just wished for a custom font. All in all well done!

Well, JSL, it's not a gfx compo and the scroll :)

I don't want to sound any negative, but lately I am doing my own things in pixeling, instead of stealing, but this Skull picture is taken from DragoArt.com, because I have pixeled last year a Picture with the same skull, called For Stirf, unreleased.
