Handle id #27418 : Sandor

I don't know if it makes sense to set Base Country of a late 80s group/scener to a state - Bosnia and Herzegovina - that did not exist before late 90s. For historical reasons Yugoslavia would make more sense to me.

Edit: As I just see, we don't have Soviet Union or German Democratic Repubic either, so if Base Countries only contain currently existing states, this might be a more general issue.

Problem is that the country follows the scener, so swedes that moved to USA later in life often change the country to USA for example.

Hmhkey, I see. Somehow I remember that we had no-longer-existing historical states like USSR etc and used to set base country for the time the guy/group was active. Might have been a dream.

I guess the current country is ok, maybe with the info of the former location in the trivia (as many folks with an account here did that themselves, like the example hedning gave).
It is still good to have historical countries in the list for the case that the new country is not known - e.g. a scener from former YU, of which is unknown where exactly he was located.

Please be aware that you will have to ask the concerning scener for consent when capturing and processing/disclosing direct and indirect personal identifiable information (CSDb rules section V.5.3). So, in essence if in doubt or you don't have consent, it's best not to record information which can be used to directly or indirectly (like location data) identify a person, unless the scener is dead, then GDPR no longer applies.

Now I know y'all will find this B.S. but the law is the law and CSDb rules are the rules.
