Stupid me, I tried all kind of joystick settings and pressed all keys. Then I realized that TFVG glyph is not a logo but the instructions :D
Nice try, surprised when saw the distance fading. It's faster than basic, but very slow for assembly. Perhaps a compiled basic.

Nice concept of well known concept ;-)

The drawing routine should be fairly easy to optimize to render faster since it's less than 256 pixels wide drawing area and the lines / slopes used are Horizontal/vertical/diagonal.
