The Ripcompo was an attempt to get rid of a lot of mostly very difficult and complicated sidtunes that people requested to be ripped at LaLa's website THE BIG SID HUNT (lala.c64.org). It worked surprisingly well, about 60 SID HUNTs were ripped by the numerous contestants, a few bugged tunes were fixed and uncounted RSID conversions have been made.

The results of the compo were as follows:

1. Ninja/The Dreams 123 points
16 SID HUNT rips
8 Bugfixes
1 SID HUNT source found

2. Inge Pedersen/HVSC crew 74 points
14 SID HUNT rips
1 RSID rip
1 SID HUNT find

3. Adam Lorentzon/HVSC crew 73 points
12 SID HUNT rips
13 RSID rips

4. Smalltown Boy/HVSC crew/MSL 59 points
44 RSID rips
3 SID HUNT rips

5. Peter Sandén/HVSC crew 30 points
19 RSID rips
1 SID HUNT rip
2 SID HUNT finds

6. Jan Krolzig 16 points
8 RSID rips

7. Stefano Tognon 15 points
2 SID HUNT fixes (basic conversion to ML)
1 SID HUNT rip

8. Magnate/Obsession 9 points
3 SID HUNT sources found

9. St0fF/Neoplasia 7 points

1 RSID rip

10. Murdock/Tropyx/Draco/Cascade 5 points
