The original of this is from "Engineered" software. It's been edited by our friends the Piratebusters.

Here's some of the most obvious evidence:

*C:005c @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@KEVIN AND BRIAN WERE
*C:0084 HERE!@@@@@@@.@@U.@@a@c@@@@@ot'UG@@@@@@@
*C:00ac @@-4@@<c@@@boOh*q@@@@@ ha.@@j@j.eb @@@d@
*C:00d4 @'@s@dddddddeeeeeefffffffgggggg@XBK@@@@@
*C:00fc @@@ eaLb@"0:*",8,8@aat@"ms PROTECTION
*C:0124 (C) 1985m BY ESI m
*C:014c DAVID F. EISAN m KEVIN P. PIC
*C:0174 KELLm BRIAN R. NIESSENm@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

The question is what is the meaning of this? Did they get hired for their copy protection services? It's possible, but then why did the name of the publisher change so that they could work in what's obviously a slam against Mitch (whom they hated)? It's also possible they wrote this thing and what I'm thinking is the original of this is a later version where they cleaned things up. It's also possible that they cracked this, since before they did protection services they did cracks (or did both at the same time).

In any case I think this should be attributed to Piratebusters.

The original that I'm referring to is here: http://commodore.software/downloads/download/27-disk-editors/11.. - the messages above are nowhere to be found in it.

Agreed. Anyone knows this company? Or was it rather a group?

I think it is not cracked by esi group now and esi stands for Exceptional Software Inc.
