Someone couldn't have expressed it better. I am behind all points. Now for me one of the remaining questions is: When was the official release date of Paint Magic, the sales rate and actual costs.

Of course there's also the possibility that the picture WAS DRAWN in 1982 in some other painting program and then later (1984) loaded up in Paint Magic and using its display code, but.. so what? There is no release which appeared in public from 1982 with that intro. And if it dusted away 2 years on someone's personal disks.. who cares?! It's about RELEASE DATES, not creation dates.

Many thanks for your interesting post, clears things up. I thought the BCS Intro was truly from 1982 too first. But against all reason certain lamers tend to believe every bullshit a person proclaims just because he wears a known group of the 80s after his nick.

Now what circumstances have we here:

a) no attempts to finally seperate Plutonium Crackers and Antitrax in the database although IT IS NECESSARY.

b) A picture claimed to be painted in 1982 although the tool it was created with was done later (when exactly?)

c) the picture claimed to be first released in 1982, found only on releases from 1984..

d) those releases re-cracks

e) no answers by Alien on the accusations and the proofs

f) major groups from 1982/83 never heard of BCS

g) of course there's the chance Alien mixed up the years first, but he seems uncapable of learning

h) and what kind of crap is that...? Hanse [german]

Ignorance is bliss.

Hey Rough. Thanks for your comment.

Just for the records: If you have read my comment on intros.c64.org - it was directed towards the Berlin dude called Softcram, who called me an idiot instead of reading my arguments.

Apparently I already posted the facts down below. But to sum them up for you: This certain version is a plain unpack of the JEDI/OTD (Important, because JEDI cracked this game in three different versions) version. The code of JEDI to relocate and start the cart image has been modified to jump to the Paint Magic display code. You can find the certain coding in the lower memory banks ($0800) and you can compare it to the OTD version.

Furthermore it is important to point out that JEDI kept their tools inside. Thanks to the Movers we will see some of these tools in the near future and it is obvious as well that only a certain handful of people (including Antiram, GCS and JEDI) were able to code packers, manage cartridge protections (Kernel modifications apply here) with less than a handful of details. The rest (Oh and that includes BCS) was in the observing position and learning from what these dudes did. What is so damn uncomprehending on this matter?

I am quite sad that you seem to be the only one who is interested in checking the facts behind several expressions by Alien. It appears to me and I still see me as independent that somebody tries to rewrite history and mix in his inaccurate details. Thanks also to Jazzcat for ignoring me in this matter like some supplicant. It is quite obvious that social involvement with some profiles seems to channel what you are writing and what you are not. Although it is quite clear that truth should come first.

For the record. I am not proclaiming that BCS was not active in the 80's, Alien wasn't involved in the early years of the C64 etc. Hello, I was the person who was requested to get well soon, only by questioning several expressions by Alien. But his claims like "we released the first intro", "cracked so much games" and on whatever he bases his scene career on, can be proven wrong and it is a pity that several years back then nobody would have believed unchecked facts without challenging the author. Bullshit walks..

@baxxx: What makes you say this is a re-crack of the Jedi version?

@all: Talked to Antiram, JEDi, KBR and GCS. Nobody ever knew BCS at all! BCS simply was nothing!

@Alien: stop talking crap at all! You might recall that I visited you in Berlin! It is obvious that Berlin never played a certain role in the c64-scene as it was isolated from the rest of the republic. The only one attending the 2nd line of the scene was CFB as a member of FCG. Give a proof or respet the old-ones! You simply didn`t start before 86 and you don´t have any idea about oldschool as well. We believe in friendship and deep respect of long-gones! Don´t fake history! Perservere on the place you belong to, independent of what you do nowadays. This is advice and please dare to come to Radwar 2008 as the true oldschoolers will be there... Nice discussions! *;) You won´t have to send email in avoidance to meet me again as you did in front of Evoke 2006! Signed, c64allstars! You might recall, what you did! Any balls left?

Dear Alien!

This is absolutly no fake mission. This release is available (like the other recracks) on several ftp's on the internet since ages (Scs-trc.net for example). The certain HERO release was added on CSDB by TCH, who seems to be a cracker for the group Brutal. Also no fake person and most sincerly no person who want to "create suspicion".

I am interested in doing real research. And there we have your claim that this bear intro should be from '82. Most obvious it can't be from 1982 as it wears code from Paint Magic. We would like to hear your statement to the 1982 intro of BCS.

And if you are on it, you can just tag the Pitfall II release as fake demo aswell, as this is another recrack.

I really would like to see one legit release wearing this intro, being not a recrack. Just to prove your goodsounding words...

Esspecially the 1982 release of Hanse you gratefully added here without uploading the binary would be really interesting for me.

And another thing: The Lord Vader release you linked to wears a Lord Vader tag, there isn't the slightest word of BCS in this release.. How come? I am sure as dedicated you are to the old spirit of scene, you can clear these details up.

Thanks...

Nice fake-mission to create suspicion.
The idea that there might have been recracks in such a small scene where everyone knew everyone like it was in the very eary C64 years is rather funny and pretty newschool.

It is quite obvious that no BCS member did this one or the other fake-files I saw in here.
Take a look at the startline: "2612 SYS2066 OTD" (OTD=Oliver Thomas Dietz/JEDI)
This is really even too cheap for an unskilled fake like this.
The H.E.R.O. version of the Berlin posse was labeled "Lord Vader". H.E.R.O. and oldschool people know.

Actually the display code at $094d is identical to the display code found in the JEDI version of Paint Magic.

Mmmhhh... The 1982 intro linked in front of a game cracked at the end of 1984. Obviously re-cracked at the beginning of 1985. Is there any other release using this "intro"? Btw. looks like a Koala paint picture, or?
