Groepaz - then you better read again! We picked up stuff that was not released by anyone in any form that we have been able to identify. The d64 did work to play, and just to cover for the fact that there could have been a protection that had been disabled we did highlight this is the docs. To be fully transparent. That is not recraking. But this is of course CSBD where we don't talk scene politics. :-P

(Its also interesting when I put ut a few points of are consistently replying one, if that).

Accusing us of recracking. Out of the blue, with no sense that such a statement should be backed by something.

Slagging Holy Moses for wanting SD2IEC. I think it's highly valid to with that games should work on 1581/SD2IEC/REU and other setups. I see no point what so ever being arrogant by such a wish.

Do you take pride in acting like a prime arrogant prick or is this a day where you skipped your meds again and you cant help yourself? :-(

My deep respect to FLT crew for the *huge* work put into this. Why people are complaining and bitching about this release instead of simply say "thank you" or stay silent is beyond me. I'm not a fan of IFFL and even if an option to disable fast-loader would have been a nice feature, this works like a charm on my original hw setup. So, since I don't give a shit about scene politics (if they still exists today), I say:
"Thank you for this release".

I will not comment of stuff people say just to prove to the world how perfect assholes they are. Just the facts;

- It's just so interesting to see CSDB infested with comments on scene politics. Predominantly by people who underline that CSDB is NOT for scene politics. I'm quite pleased that we still piss people off. Envy is still painful.

- We release cracks as we want them to be cracked. If you don't like it, then pick up one of the other releases (which there are of course none of this game as there are like three people left who could pull this one off and noone did it before us). We take influence by the scene rules, but if we prefer differently then we will do it differently. We make our own rules. We don't deliberately break someone else's rules unless there is a point in doing like we prefer. We are moving forward establishing our own rule-set.

- I couldn't care less about some generic loader gfx. For me this is the same as the moving bar in Cyberload. When cyberload is gone, so is the cyberload gfx. As said: If you don't like it, do your own version.

- Choice of loader was a bit delicate. I need forward decrunching for reasons I don't have the time, nor the crayons to explain. Cadaver had it. There is more background in the doc files for the four previous games. All of that still applies also to this one. We didn't provide the same repetition this time as the docs are ingame. We only provided you with the game hints.

- The first game we cracked had even more files - too many to fit into any of the IFFLs I have seen (including ours). It's possible to use mem based tables (like Magervalp does) but I had this working and went with it. So ytes, you could argue that IFFL might have been beneficial and we challenge anyone to do such a version.

To be honest we did do a review of loaders part way through this series of games, but we had everything in place to make the next games more of a transistion from last to next, rather than starting again from scratch.

Future releases may possibly use a different loader as/if needed that will be compatible with more devices, including sd2iec, I even have one myself just for testing :)

What Lynx said. If SD2IEC can't load stuff that work on stock hw, then it's a problem with the SD2IEC, nothing else.

Iffl was one option, but as pointed out to me by Bacchus, the thought of scanning possibly multiple iffl files to load what many files are just an $80 byte load, that idea was wrote off.

Instead we have included as many of the files as we can into unbanked memory and do straight forward memory copys to cut down on the amount of files on disk and also loading times.

By the phrase re-crack I'm guessing you've read the notes, where we openly admit the original did have the disk check patched to start with, with the amount of work that's gone into this I'm sure that wouldn't have been much of a problem for us anyway even if it was still intact.

Also when the 'Return of Heracles' cracking competition kicked off, the original that was spread to work with had the disk protection patched to start with, and no one had a problem with that at the time ?

Bacchus: Today people want it all, that includes generic shit, that is not unique to the game in question. We had the same reaction when we released Sheepoid DX +D. We were puzzled at first, but ok, if it's important to people, why not. I believe it boils down to old skool vs. new skool attitudes.
