I wouldn't worry too much about criticism unless you find it to be constructive. That doesn't mean ignore it, either... but take it all "with a grain of salt". If you express yourself publicly there are bound to be some people who simply don't like your work. Don't let that stop you. If you enjoy it, keep it up. You already know that there are many people who enjoy your work. :-)

There you got me Jailbird, I won't lie but the left deer I took from a
photograph, my aunt sent me heaps of animalpictures as she loves animals
and said these would be good to pixel from.. The rest of the picture is
my own, usually I don't copy stuff, all the pictures I did recently are all
my own.. And, I lost bit my motivation for c64/csdb regarding the posts here
on csdb about there must be improvement but there isn't any from me. :/

its not to question anyones sanity but i cant see this progress. imo this picture is nothing JSL wouldnt have been able to draw 4 years ago. have a look at this image, its from 2004 and shows a much better effort at drawing a tree or animal characters. JSL's pictures are OK and nice to look at but sometimes i wish he would spend more time on improving his techniques which have been in the same point for years now.

What a relief. I'm really glad I'm not the only one noticing progress on JSL's works. I was about to officially decline myself an idiot when you guys showed up and proved my sanity. Thank you.
Nice picture, by the way :)

You are getting better for sure.
I am really concerned about that deer on the left growing a tree from it's ass tho. That looks like it would hurt.

Well Hoild, not really, I visit each week a centre of activities, heaps of stuff ppl
can do there, there's also each Wednesday a course in drawing with a real teacher,
we get several things to do there during the year, like portraits, perspective,
landscapes, paintings, airbrush, anatomy, the usual art stuff which comes along, in the
beginning around 2003 when I came first to this place I joined all the things the teacher
did, but lateron I lost interrest when I started a cartoongroup there, and we brought out
our first comicbook called "Daystar Chronicles", and now we meet each Wednesday there,
talking about future, do small cartoonjobs for people and magazines, assist the new-
comers there in doing drawing/painting, like being the boss when teacher has a day off,
visit the library when it's bookweek to draw for the children, visit the Stripdagen
(comicdays Haarlem, and any other comic festivals), and work a bit on our sequel
of Daystar Chronicles, so actually Hoild I lost interrest in courses there, but enough
to do there, and currently there's an exposition going on with my ART.. But, yes, I
should experience more with perspective overthere as I don't know much of it... :-)

Yes, there is progress from practice.

JSL's ongoing effort yields a noticeable improvement in quality, but I wonder if he is taking real drawing lessons as well to learn perspective and anatomy?

JSL, are you, please?
