I agree with Mermaid, whilst the car/plane are quite nicely drawn, I think it would look better without them. The sky is good!

DeeKay: never said the *car* is the good part, just that CONS is better at drawing cars than I am. Personally, I'd like to see a sequel to this picture without the car and plane - my favourite part of the picture is Ayers Rock (Uluru) and the sky.

CONS: there's nothing wrong with using reference photos.

+$.02: FWIW, I don't think the car is the good part in this, it's too undefined and somewhat too murky for my taste. Personally I think the Stuka is way better drawn! ;-)

@mermaid
It would be so great, if i could simply say thank you for your compliment on the car, but you are giving me way too much credit here. I consider myself still in the phase of learning basics, so the car is referenced on a photo that i looked at while pixelling (so is the plane and the rock). The only reference you use are the images in your mind and you have developed your own style. And as much as i love to get there some day, i know it is a long way. Nevertheless i am pleased that i got it pretty accurate without converting, scanning or rastering :)

When the results are in, i will publish it on my website, together with more information about how this picture came to life and what the hell it does mean :D, I'll post the link here, of course.
As soon as the results are

CONS, you're a lot better at drawing cars than I'll ever be, still I'd like to see a version of this without the car and plane. <3 Uluru/Ayers rock <3

If someone put a gun to my head and forced me to interpret this, I would say:

Modernity (car pollution etc) slowly destroys nature (ayers rock). The past (the air-o-plane) tries to defend it, but realize that it will not succeed. But since the past is just a bunch of nazis anyway, nobody cares. In the end, everybody dies.

Looks like a Volvo XC-60...

This would look great in Hi-Res.
