@Oswald: With regards to picture above, I do not see any limitations when it comes to the side border graphics. Black, Dark-grey, Green, Light-green are all that is required. After that it is all down to the skill of the artist. The sideboard graphics on the right side are particularly weak.

I sense a competition coming on. Heh.

This reminds me of a task we had to do in art class many years ago. We were required to pick a postcard, each of which featured an image by a famous artist, painter. The postcard was then glued to the centre of a blank piece of paper. We then had to extend the information outwards from the postcard. It was quite a challenge.

Oswald: I'm not talking about the upper/lower border gfx being bigpixel - I'm talking about the SB-stuff being of much lesser pixel-craftsmanship... also, why the hell didn't they make the upperborder grey pixel dithering in hires, like in the OSCAR demopic with the writing? Beats me, OSCAR would have offered the possibility even without tinkering with the sprite displayer code!...

Deekay, you're unfair imho. considering the limitations the spr gfx couldnt be done better in my opinion.

Yeah i recall getting this and wanted everyone to see what you could do with static sprites to create a full screen pic. I think it was a part of a game that wasn't finshed by some mob.

We never did do an into with it i'm really sorry we didn't b/c it was revolutionary

Sideborder routine ripped from and GFX made in OSCAR. It's quite amazing how you can see just where Hugh Riley ends and where Paul/The Force (or whoever made the gfx) begins! ;-)
Could've been done way better! Still amazed the fuck outta me back when I saw it...
