Anonym: Thanx. And: That is correct. It's a recent addition (or, "clarification", really, as we added the rule about attendants in September 2020 when online events became the new thing, and clarified them further in May 2021) to the rules, and yes: If orgas were at the same place streaming, please add them as attendants. Another future idea is just to make another type of entry for "Online events" and "Online compos" (even if "Standalone compo" already exists) to separate them from "normal" demo parties.

Thanks, Hedning. I take it it is a recent addition to the rules, then or I missed it before. Not sure I agree, but it's the moderator's house and their rule. And thank you for all you guys do, I know running sites with users can be quite challenging.

I guess one could argue that even the party was virtual, at least the organizers were physically present ;-)

Hi anonym: you have the rules here: https://csdb.dk/help.php?section=rules

CSDb is built around physical parties, prior to the covid pandemic, and even if most parties today are a hybrid between a online event (streaming the compos etc) and physical event, we can't just mix online watching a stream on Twitch with the real attendants to a party. If we did, "attendance" would mean nothing anymore.

Yes, it appears online attendees were removed from especially the larger events, such as Transmission64 now.

Is there a list of rules? Doesn't make so much sense to me personally, but your house, your rules, I guess.

What about online parties with paid attendees, i.e. Revision?

Jammer: yes. If you participated in a "CSDb compo" you are already credited.

Do online CSDb compos follow that rule as well?

OK, I just cleaned up my own scener entry accordingly. Now, I need to physically attend some more events...!

It is a general rule and hedning already "cleaned up" most of the affected events already. Definately needs a public post still, hm? :)

Quote:
As this is an online event, please don't add "attendants"

please confirm that this is a general rule on csdb now.

Oops! Is that the rule? In that case, I - and indeed many others - need to be removed from a lot of online-only parties, compos, etc...

As this is an online event, please don't add "attendants".
