Founded by :
Robin Hood in 1986
Dissolved in :
1992
Group Type :
Cracker Group
Base Country :
United States
Trivia :
The largest of the local Cincinnati groups.
Has at least one co-release and shared member with The Kender Crew, another local group. They would eventually become enemies as THW became a more serious group.
Group founder and leader Robin Hood was known for adding folks to the membership roster whether they wanted to be or not. It appears that in some cases this worked and they would end up staying in the group.

If that's the case, how do you explain the intro maker you made for them with the scrolltext that reads (quoting directly) "i (the war criminal) am proud to present to thw my first >>> intro+editor <<< for the group on february 2nd, 1991... only members of thw are allowed to have copies of this utility.. just follow the editors menu, it will do the task it was designed for!! i dedicate this to my current love and the one whom i truely desire: tiffany morgan.. i love you!! call digital underground at 1404423198 or our support board modem mafia at 14048086464.. more shit coming soon!" (genuinely curious, did Rob just edit something you made for another group?) |

only 2 groups ever courted me to ntsc fix them: Armageddon and Red Sector Inc (not TRSI). Prior to founding AD & SGR I had a group from 1986-1989 called TLB (The Lost Boys; not associated w/ the the one listed on here). We released cracks of games from an Electronics Boutique employee who went by the handle Raistlin. The releases were mostly D&D, Cosmi, Access & Mastertronic. Unfortunately I don't have those disks anymore. I do remember some of the titles:Water Polo, Roadwars, Hillsfar, Mean Streets, Top Fuel Challenge. Most of them I had to zero byte out the manual answers while others I had to bypass disk error checks. |

"Friar Tuck" passed away a few months back, leaving me & "The War Criminal". Perhaps denying group membership is a clever way to dodge the curse? (More likely, after reading the scroller in "Codex/AD", Rob courted him for membership and put him on the rolls before confirming) |

The War Criminal is listed in the scrolltext of one of their demos as being a new member, specifically an NTSC-Fixer. Could have been more of Robin Hood's drug-induced ravings, but I clearly recall him talking about this guy on numerous occasions. I'll go through the archive and try to get their stuff upped. I eventually wound up with most of Robin Hood's disk collection after he died, so I'm reasonably sure anything they released would be in there. |

"The THW Curse"
Because of the unusually high number of former members of this group who have committed suicide, died in accidents, and found their way into federal prison, 513/606 locals have long claimed the existence of a "curse" that supposedly haunts the lives of former members. Of course this is nonsense. We were troubled children who grew into troubled adults. Some of us outgrew our problems, some did not. - Six/Style (Formerly Prowler/DLoC/THW) |
