Centauri   (C)

- - Born in paradise, raised in hell -

Founded by :
Wulf & CMG in October 1988

Dissolved in :
November 1990

Group Type :
Demo Group

Base Country :
Netherlands

Trivia :
Robert (Wulf), Dennis (CMG) and several others established Centauri at the Veenendaal party (JOY - MGF - WWE Party) in October 1988. Sirius, Phobos, (the Dutch department of) Legend and Traxion (I am to date not sure how this is related to the Danish and Norwegian Traxion crews) joined forces.

Centauri actually consisted of the Arnhem and the Zeeland department, with Robert (Wulf) as pivot, as Robert (Wulf) and Danny (Fly) are cousins.
At some occasion Robert, Elvin, Danny and Edwin joined Dennis and Jeroen (JB) in class at school (3rd grade of Atheneum at the time) as being (Zeeuwse) exchange students.

Centauri released the famous Logo-Editor (Logo-Editor V1.2), which was actually ripped by Elvin in 1988 (see Sirius Improved Graphic Editor by TSH - Sirius) from a game development tool, if I remember well) and Henry added the disk menu to it.
Also, a neat Christmas demo (Merry Christmas 1988) was released in 1988. In the beginning of 1989, a rather original contact-demo Be All, End All was released by the Arnhem department, and more specifically, Dennis, Robert and Jeroen.

In the meanwhile, Jeroen (JB) and Rick (ICE-T) founded a music group The Underground Music Company AKA Artifix. Jeroen did quite a considerable number of neat tunes and a music-disk circulated but was never spread. Most of the Centauri members in Arnhem got lazy and Jeroen decided to join Black Mail. Black Mail used several of Jeroen his tunes in A SA-Demo.

Soon the only active branch left was the Zeeland group consisting of Edwin (EAX), Elvin (Ventura) and Danny (Fly). At the end of 1989, they released the -again- stylish demo Satanic, featuring well designed parts with the focus on atmosphere.

Elvin (Ventura) joined Powers of Pain at the Silicon Limited + Ruthless Party 1990 in Utrecht.

There was a short lived resurrection in 1990/1 by new people in Zeeland. Only several small and poor contact demos were released.
