Well, it's a start. I'd suggest goooogling "sonic the hedgehog sprite sheet" and use a few sprites to create a similar looking main character. (or get someone to do it). And the same goes for other graphic content. Code wise: i'd look at other fast paced platformers...plenty out there. Good luck!
