Thumbs up for the tutorial! | User Comment Submitted by CSixx on 13 January 2013
Yes, thanks for sharing it ian, it's a good method :)
Also, I tried the auto-unpack switch in unp64 and got some different results, so I used the batch method.

nice tutorial, it's exactly what i do myself to find trainers =)
just one nitpick, the unpacking bat can be avoided by using
unp64 -c -o output.prg "HELIKOPTER JAGD.prg" | User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 13 January 2013
Though this is a recrack which is considered to be a great no-no by most ppl here (I don't care as much as others, but wasn't there any source for an original image?), the tut is nicely and comprehensibly written, sth like game "training for dummies". ;)
Much more than trainers, I'd appreciate if someone fixed the unfair (<-- you die and start on a position where you collide with the next enemy without any chance) or illogical situations (<-- why do you get score for shooting a rocket but not for bombing a ship or elimating a rocket with the phosphor bomb?) | User Comment Submitted by Karoshier on 13 January 2013
I find it very nice that someone tries to explain to newcomers how these techniques work. Back in the days we had to find out all this stuff by ourselves, the hard way. Maybe this tutorial should find its way into codebase... Actually I would have expected the rasters in the trainer screen to be at least line-synchronous :P but it's good enough for an example. | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 13 January 2013
Nice you added how you trained it! So others can do it too. For cheat finding I always used an Action Replay cartridge. Of course you can also use a Retro Replay cartridge or even a 1541 Ultimate cartridge. |
