Awesome demo for the time, but it were the filenames that made it stick in my head. =) | User Comment Submitted by psych on 16 January 2019
Keep coming back to this one. Still love it. | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 14 August 2018
Fuck... this is still the best! that realtime glenze | User Comment Submitted by Shine on 26 December 2017 User Comment Submitted by rez on 3 May 2014
Great vector routine! I love this demo :D | User Comment Submitted by Fungus on 3 May 2014
Still one of my favorite demos, it's just got that special something. | User Comment Submitted by Sith on 26 March 2014
Raytracers and smooth vectors in 1992? Wow. Still great to watch today. | User Comment Submitted by Zyron on 17 August 2012 User Comment Submitted by Sledge on 17 August 2012
Yeah, I saw it too that Dane only gave this demo a 7. Crazy ;) | User Comment Submitted by Total Chaos on 17 August 2012
My comment was more a reflection of the CSDB vote-system ;) | User Comment Submitted by Cresh on 17 August 2012
Underrated? #1 in democompo & check the groups beaten. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Total Chaos on 17 August 2012
20 years old...
Still under-rated imho... | User Comment Submitted by bepp on 16 November 2010
Must have seen the vector part a hundred times. It was the first filled vectors I ever saw on a C64. Morphing! Glenz! Come on! And smooth as well. Also some great graphics and good tunes in there. A true classic! It's hard to understand this demo was made 18 years ago! | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 16 October 2010
What will be better in the new release? The demo code is the same right? I do not understand this at all... silly me... | User Comment Submitted by plagueis on 16 October 2010
When The Phantom first pointed this demo out to me, I recognized it as some of the most outstanding c64 vector routines out there...especially in the context of its time. I've seen some amazing stuff along these lines since, but this is an obvious classic. I can't wait 'till Jackasser releases his version. | User Comment Submitted by Medicus on 16 October 2010
@jackasser: please do so! :) | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 16 October 2010
This is one of my all time favs... At the party we were quite blown away with this demo. But we still thought we would win or that panoramic would... we got the third place and panoramic got the seventh... we thought it were a bit unfair at the time but an hour or so after it were annonced we just loved the compo results after all, even that I really think panoramic deserved a better place... but you know... one win some and one looses some more... it is life and to loose to horizon is no shame... Pernod, the opening image is splendid in this one, I admire your skills beeing a coder and also a very good designer and graphics artist, it must be fun for you... The ruler bar were the coolest ever in my mind and could win alone... ha ha... | User Comment Submitted by Steppe on 16 October 2010
Proper crunching? It's already a onesider, what do you get from better crunching? | User Comment Submitted by JackAsser on 16 October 2010
Agree although I'm quite biased... I re-linked the demo last year with proper crunching etc including loading of the end-part. I guess I should release that soon. :P | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 16 October 2010
Great demo, if a little on the short side. The End up scroller, feat. large hires interlaced font looks impressive. | User Comment Submitted by wacek on 16 October 2010
Absolute stunner :) Musically, visually, technically. Together with Wonderland IX they are my favourite C64 demos ever. | User Comment Submitted by booker on 26 August 2009
Amazing piece of demo with great tunes.
Too bad Bappalander did only few SIDs. | User Comment Submitted by Total Chaos on 14 February 2007
still stunning after 15 years... Horizon's best imo | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 14 February 2007
I remember seeing this for the first time, how fucking amazed I was. Überzuper! | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 25 September 2006
this demo invented all the techniques that are mostly used afterwards to display filled vectors. Atmospherish graphics&music and mind blasting code. | User Comment Submitted by Stan on 2 January 2005
I love the soundtrack by Boogaloo and Bappalander. I still remember it well even though I haven't watched the demo for 10 years or so. The Ray-Tracer rocks too! One of my all-time favorites, also considering that this was the last Horizon Demo (Kjer & Bagder ruled!). | User Comment Submitted by HCL on 15 July 2004
Yeah!! 100% agree with the earlier comments. The raytracer simply roxx, and the line vector morph is the nicest thing i've ever seen!! | User Comment Submitted by Asmodean on 4 June 2004
That raytraced part in this demo almost made my eyes fall out when I first saw this demo a few years ago. Since then I've seen quite a lot of effects, but this part still manage to impress me. | User Comment Submitted by Optimus on 9 February 2004
Nice intro. Great vectors!!! I like how the hidden line vectors dot morph into each other. |
