yupp, AFLI, might be we didn't have the category back then... changed from HiRes to AFLI | User Comment Submitted by ptoing on 6 November 2016
Looks like AFLI aka Advanced FLI aka Hires FLI to me, 2 colours per 8x1. | User Comment Submitted by pby on 24 January 2014
@Leon: The actual image has a resolution of 296x200 pixels (no double pixels in it) - . If that's not Hires please tell me the correct cathegory to file this under. It's been a while and I'm not that sure about the formats... | User Comment Submitted by leonofsgr on 24 January 2014 User Comment Submitted by bepp on 24 January 2014 User Comment Submitted by Shinobi on 24 January 2014
Very cool pic, let's you forget the limitations of the platform, awesome! | User Comment Submitted by pby on 24 January 2014
Thanks a lot for the kudos!
@ Tom-Cat: Isn't AFLI Format considered Hires? :)
@ Hammerfist: It should read ACRISE in the other direction than "cooler than ice" guess it's a bit hard to unscramble ;-) | User Comment Submitted by Tom-Cat on 24 January 2014
Awesome, great pic. But the "Hires" category shouldn't be used... :) | User Comment Submitted by psych on 24 January 2014 User Comment Submitted by Hammerfist on 24 January 2014
Awesome piece, looks very much like a lot of the 'realistic' comics based on movies I remember from 20 years ago. Black & white, crispy, realistic style drawings but with a black edge, slick dithering and that cool logo with - what is it? Japanese? - those cool symbols. Best one I've seen of you yet, the past couple of weeks. | User Comment Submitted by pby on 24 January 2014
Thanks for your comments. It's definitely no converted picture/scan. I also didn't use any overlays (like having a photo or scan in the back and pixeling over it, or whatever). It's not the way I work. I only used some old sketches (India ink and graphite on paper) as inspiration like in the gfx before - but recreated them completely from scratch. The writings are based on fonts though (didn't create those myself)... Like I said before in one of the production notes, I haven't been into doing gfx on the commodore for many years now, so it'll take me a bit to fully get back into it again. Your comments really help! | User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 24 January 2014
Its just me or it looks repainted after conversion. anyway its very good one | User Comment Submitted by Matt on 24 January 2014
wow another great piece of work there!
your gfx could use some musical score though. I was thinking about Rio's or Hydrogen's work perhaps.
Keep it up and keep'em coming! |
