Can't recall any complex hi-res pictures from Saehn. He's rather a multicolor connoisseur. Or, maybe you know something we don't :)

For all his MultiColor releases, whenever I think of Shane I always recall this particular HiRes pic of his:

-Just checked his other releases and I am surprised he did not pixel more in HiRes, but quality beats quantity anyways.

Doing faces with that block restrictions is a pain in the ass, especially if they are that small, so congratulations. However i wished to have more shadows on the face/left shoulder due to the covering umbrella.

truly brilliant, but you're trying to squeeze too much out of the mode (photo realism). Which doesnt work, esp. on the face. Altho its nothing short of ammazing you managed to pull off the face with so much details.

But, besides Leon and Veto, don't forget Reekol, Mirage, Mermaid, Duce, Twoflower, Bitbreaker and Deev too, they've also done some absolutely fantastic hi-res works in the last few years!

You are right of course and I apologise. But this and Thamed pictures kinda put you out there in the hires "scene" together with Leon and of course the hires master himself - Veto

Hey, there is nothing to apologize for, I was absent from the scene in general for more than half a decade anyway ;)

Jailbird joins the hires club then

Considering I was pixelling hi-res images 7-8 years ago, it's more like a club I've never even left ;)

You have probably missed An Ugly, Single Color Female Face and Daydreamer. And, Edge of Disgrace also featured two hi-res images I've made around '07. All are quite outdated and hardly interesting compared to succeeding/modern instances from C64's hi-res world, but those days we were just discovering the possibilities of this gfx-mode and barely touched the surface of its real potentials.

It is also great to see C64 community embracing "spectrum" hires mode. I know the colours are totally different but it is sooo similar. Just for inspiritation of what I consider the best of the best speccy loading screens: http://www.binaryzone.org/thezone/davidthorpe.php

Wow, great use of hires there :) Jailbird joins the hires club then. I think the proportions are fine considering the restrictions, don't see anything wrong. Great stuff. 10/10

Awesome piccy, I love it that you guys/girls not to leave any one out :) trigger eachother, and also this hires wave that have surfaced lately in demos and artists... breaking your own limits
Its a challange, its difficult, its hard!
and that is what we looooove!
excellent work... glad that you're back ;)

@Hoild: guilty as charged, I am not the happiest about her either. That said, I pissed blood till I managed to fit her and the realistic shadings on her into the 2col/char limit whilst keeping up with all the other details on and around her body. I've made an initial body proportion-scale, but it had to be altered and overruled constantly when I've met with char limits. Unfortunately, I couldn't make her more human (-like) than this without losing other important parts of the picture... Those who pixelled a but more seriously in hi-res could probably tell a lot about how unforgiving this mode is when it comes to realistic natural forms and patterns.
It is great for huge graphical subjects, stylized shapes or blotchy, blurry motifs and cartoonish stuff with a lot of heavy outlines, but try thorough, busy lifelike concepts with a lot of small specifics and obtrusive contours, and get ready to test your nerves.

Well, most of the pixelling was fun anyhow! :)

Oh and by the way: the girl and the rabbit were based on several references, the background was added later on. If anyone is interested in the ~40 workstages, PM me.

The proportion, size and aspect of her shoulders and arms does not match the size and aspect of her head. It looks like as if the girl was shot through a weird distortion lens, then collaged into the otherwise quite flat background.

Jailbird, this is great. Simply Amazing work, and I love the eastern bunny - even if it came early this year. :)

You have much more colors in your scope of Pictures compared to Leon, but then again I really like Leons originality and simplicity also. It shows his passion to grow and become even better.

I don't see the same in your picture, because it is already so polished. Like, it's a trip you completed. While Leon is still on the road.

Won't say that I enjoy the other one better than the others, I simply enjoy your both ;)

Thanks for excellent hires artworks!

So, while we were chatting a few days ago, Leon brought up this idea about painting a picture based on Tamed, and that thought inspired me to make put together a composition based on some of his latest favorite subjects...

I hope it will cheer you up at least a little bit, pal! Your enthusiasm is really uplifting and motivating! Keep on kickin' asses! :)
