Updated release is valid. Welcome to the show. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Kickback on 26 December 2014
Updated release:
Music changed
size - $0800 - $42d7 (this should qualify) | User Comment Submitted by Kickback on 26 December 2014
Ok, so the $4000 includes the screen area. I was a bit confused on that one :-) Thanks for pointing that one out too. | User Comment Submitted by Didi on 26 December 2014
Rules say $4000 bytes at one block, which ist before and during runtime. Even with music relocated it would currently jump over the limit because screen is at $0400 and scrolltext ends at $4758. It seems to be possible to squeeze everything into $0400-$4400 until deadline by moving some data around. | User Comment Submitted by Kickback on 26 December 2014
Aaaah!!! Thanks for the help folks much appreciated! | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 26 December 2014
just use sidreloc
sidreloc -k Ninja_Dance.sid Ninja_Dance1000.sid
and rebuild it without moving the tune and using it directly at $1000, better safe than sorry =) | User Comment Submitted by tlr on 26 December 2014
From the rules: "- Maximum RAM usage is $4000 bytes at one block, at whatever location you like. Screen RAM counts as used memory. Exclusions are system addresses like VIC (inkl. Color RAM), SID, CIA, Stack, Zero-page, IRQ vectors." | User Comment Submitted by Kickback on 26 December 2014
Can someone explain to me why this wouldn't be in the compo? Just curious, because I have one more entry, and want to make sure I don't waste the time ;-) | User Comment Submitted by Buddha on 26 December 2014
Nice intro in oldshool style and job Kickback but a pity that it's outsdide of competition ... I think that Richard music in "Last ninja" style is very suitable for this intro about design ... We talked, that i had to do music for this C64 intro but i don't know if i would have handled with such style because i do a different style of music. We waiting for your new productions then i'll do music for your new Hokuto Force intro and maybe on 2-4 frames music on 8580 cool C64 sounds ! | User Comment Submitted by Kickback on 26 December 2014
Does it matter that I move memory out? I thought the requirements was it had to fit into a $4000 byte range? | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 26 December 2014
you should have relocated the music to $1000 instead of moving it to $9000, I'm not sure now this is qualified, as it moves 1000-1e00 to $9000, but at least the bytes are correctly swapped in and out ;) | User Comment Submitted by plagueis on 26 December 2014
