This is the type of craziness and different approach Iam straving for sometimes with the Commodore 64. 10/10 | User Comment Submitted by F7sus4 on 1 June 2020
Raw and progressive, because why not. | User Comment Submitted by Saphir on 24 May 2020
A bit crazy, but i like that :D | User Comment Submitted by DivertigO on 2 May 2020
I love how this uses FM to enhance the idea but doesn't push all these metallic FM sounds at you for the sake of it! Great interplay between FM and SID and it has that Mibri signature. Love those proggy harmony runs. Tasty! | User Comment Submitted by Max on 2 May 2020 User Comment Submitted by FATFrost on 2 May 2020 User Comment Submitted by Jammer on 1 May 2020

Very nice one. :) Works fine here on GTK3 Vice 3.4 | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 1 May 2020
Good song and this mix between the different sounds gives an interesting sound-image in total. And by the way, cause various VICE versions was recommended here for this song, there is also a WinVICE V3.2 version, which has the older and better V2.4 SID-filter included back again. It can be found on different places in the internet. Don't know if it's welcome to give a link here, but it can also be found when typing "WinVICE V3.2 with SID-Filter from V2.4" in a search-engine for example. I prefer this version over V2.4 or V3.3 to be honest. | User Comment Submitted by Mibri on 1 May 2020
This is a tune for C64 with 8580 SID and the FM-YAM cartridge from Xentax. You will hear three regular 1x speed SID channels combined with six FM (YM3812) channels. I used GoatTracker to compose the SID sounds and EdLib (an MS-DOS tool by JCH/Vibrants) to compose the FM sounds.
The chord changes and initial lead melody are taken from the composition 'Off Minor' by Thelonious Monk.
This tune can be played in VICE (versions 2.4 and 3.3 are both OK) as long as you have 8580 selected in SID settings and SFX Sound Expander (YM3812) enabled in Cartridge/IO Settings (version 2.4) or I/O Extensions (version 3.3).
A real hardware (C64 with FM-YAM) recording of this tune features as the opening track of a compilation album that I just released on Bandcamp: https://mibri.bandcamp.com/album/dedication |
