I'm pretty sure that Oswald secretly loves this demo as he's been taking so many ideas from it.

I like this. There are moments when I think it drops too much in intensity, but overall I really enjoy the show. The gfx is very well done, I think.

@Oswald: isn't that lonely crusade becoming even a little bit boring? if you'd even use 1/10th of your "critisism" on your own "demos", you'd be a very sad man (q: what does sappy and banal scene-poetry have to do with a plotter?)

I think the base idea is great, but the whole demo is fucked up :)

lets just see:

"the visual style and feeling achieved is stunning, as are the use of colours."

- huh excuse me, a green ball on a purple background is stunning ? what does isometric stuff have to do with the 70's ? and the list could go on and on. Visually this demo is totally incoherent.

"can't understand why people keep complaining about the music "not fitting the theme". "

- lol, well imho the music is awful. I have by now heard a lot of reed tracks, but by far this is the worst :) maybe you should check some drax/laxity/danko/grg tunes for vast examples on how pop music can be done good on the sid ?

"I especially like the gorgeous mix of colours in parts like the the-girl-looking-up, 'DNA', and Trailblazer parts."

- the girl looking up part is the silliest and cheapest, the colors are the usual c64 colors. none of the gradients are suprising or whatever. the dna and trailblazer parts look really good I have to admit.

"I was saying: -"yesss!" out loud several times while watching this, because the overall quality of the visual ideas is remarkably high."

- but u loved especially the star drawn up of 8x8 pixels, or the green ball on purple background.

anyone seen the font used to display the credits ? I would consider them ugly even in the 80's. thats it about visual style.

The ingredients are luscious but seems that the cake lost my kind of sweetness while baking.
Tried to taste it two or three times but I just can't get used to the flavor, sorry... :(

This is a truly excellent demo! The visual style and feeling achieved is stunning, as are the use of colours. This is a TRUE classic and a great example of the C64's endless and varied capabilities.

The image of the woman standing with a blurred motion effect was very effective.

As a design and themed demo... This ROCKS! (...or should that be BOOGIE's?).

It just went into my 'demos to watch when you're bored' directory (and there's not much stuff in there)... great stuff!

I can't understand why people keep complaining about the music "not fitting the theme". Reed has very skillfully replicated the feeling of disco music, without even once stepping back to funk.

This is just a fab demo. The programming is cool, but the design is the thing that stands out. I especially like the gorgeous mix of colours in parts like the the-girl-looking-up, 'DNA', and Trailblazer parts. Thanks for a job well done guys!

Brilliant demo, but I guess this disco-stuff isn't my cup of tea.

I really don't prefer the demos with the story. The desing is pretty nice, but I didn't felt like in 70's while watching this production. Especially 'cause of the music.

I simply cant understand why this demo is so overhyped ? inconsistent design (YES). 4 coloured gfx, ugly colors here and there. Thats totally NO 70's for me. Altho I have to add that about half of the parts are very nice but the rest spoils it, and the demo falls into pieces of parts, instead of being a whole one. This is a very good idea with average execution.

ok, whiteboy style disco revival wasnt even exciting ten years ago, but nevertheless this demo is very nice! I was saying: -"yesss!" out loud several times while watching this, because the overall quality of the visual ideas is remarkably high. Despite the retro disco stuff I gotta say it feels really fresh and would probably entertain even normal human beings not into c64. The only thing I think was missing was truly Funky Music. The end theme is somewhat on the way there, but not even close to the funky feel of some of the graphics, which makes me think more of danish musicians like Drax or Jeff.. anyway, Thumbs up! I will show this one to all my non data and data friends.

I really LOVE this one! Seems there's a huge 70's revival all over the demo-scene this year (just check out http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=17311).
