Endless Piracy

Founded on :
27 December 1996

Dissolved in :
January 1997

Group Type :
Cracker Group

Base Country :
Germany

Trivia :
Founded at The Party 1996 and dead just a few days later after re-releasing Babylon Preview +2.

From the ashes of Acrise and Endless Piracy, Disorder was born. More info can be found in About Disorder. (Same info was mirrored in short in ArachnoPhobia #4 (February 1997))

As reported in Relax #19 (8/1-1997): "At first the cooperation of Acrise & Excess splitted, now even the future of Acrise doesn't look to bright as the members left to built up a new group.

From the former Acrise crew MENDRAKE, GOTHIC, BORDEAUX, GOAT and GIZMO are willing to establish this name in the scene these days. They are getting completed by MANAGEMENT, SKID ROW, TRISTAN and ZORLAC, names which are aswell as ENDLESS PIRACY quite familar to most of the older sceners still round these. Due to the deadline we have not been able to check if those persons are the original ones, but we will keep you updated in our next editions. Last but not least a certain PERFECTIONIST completes the squad.

Current Endl. Piracy memberstatus looks like (= 11): Bordeaux, Gizmo, Goat, Gothic, Management, Mendrake, Paracrax, Perfectionist, Skid Row, Tristan and Zorlac

Endless Piracy worldheadquarter(s)/board(s):
THE DRAGON'S TOWER"

There might be some extra confusion here just as Maxlide tells us below: There was indeed a group called "Endless Piracy" formed in 1993 (The Amiga original obviously?, but seems that one started off in 1990 according to https://demozoo.org/groups/1862/ ?, according to Frontpage #25 (May 1993) some guys started off a C64 branch in 1993:" -ARCADE is dead! after the dead of -ARC- skinhead,skidrow,a-man,deflex, perfectionist,2light,art & decide did FORM 'ENDLESS PIRACY'."

It's a mess. Are they different groups?

The real story about Endless Piracy:
EP C64 was founded by Autopsy (Endless Piracy Amiga), Skinhead (The Management) and me, when Christian (Autopsy) asked Skinhead and me if we were interested running a C64 section of the Amiga group Endless Piracy as he and some Amiga members were interested in doing some C64 stuff again.
Jochen (Skinhead) and me liked the idea and were thinking about some friends who could be interested in this idea aswell.
So I asked another real life friend Markus Schneider (Diflex) and he liked the idea doing some intro- and demo-musics for an illegal related scenegroup again. This would be a change compared to all his commercial stuff. He was also living close to our hometown at this time (Winsen/Hannover).
Next day we were asking two more local friends (Gizmo and Zorlac (aka Golem aka Honesty aka Hero aka Goreflex)) if they would like to join as swapper (Gizmo) and coder (Zorlac) and so they did.
Another old scenefollow who liked to join was Robin (the Tristian listed here in the memberlist is not the correct one!).
About a week or two later the next one who was asked to join was Mendrake who was in contact with Jochen (Skinhead) at this time. Mendrake liked the idea and brought some more ex-Acrise members with him.
At this time I started to code the first EP intro and we were preparing our first release (Babylon Preview +2) for this new group.
Actually I don't remember why things broke up after a few weeks already again as there were a few new releases in the pipeline next to a megademo done by Zorlac, Diflex and me which unfortunately was never finished (too bad I don't have the disc with these unreleased musics from Markus anymore).

Just to get it straight:

Fix (Fix) was not a member of this group. He was a member of an AMIGA group with the same name (quote from his profile: "Amiga Adventure: 19xx - Endless Piracy (EP) as Coder / Sysop (Fastline)").

Deleted him from the members list.

Cristoph :) thanks for putting a smile on my face.. I almost forgot about *this* disaster, however I can't help remembering that it indeed only last for a few hours and not days to be honnest. Hope to find some 'internal' stuff from early days in Disorder where we might have talked about it in disknotes since i'm transferring my old disks :)

*edit* The management linked to is indeed not correct
*edit* and i'll confirm skinhead was indeed in EP

Fixed a few date related errors: EP was founded on the party *6* and did last for a few days, not just "one hour" ;-)

@Axis: that's why they called it like that. ;)

1 hour only... hohoho, I thought this had existed at least some days, what a failure, reminds me of Caladan but even worse

Endless Piracy was supposed to be the follow-up to Acrise (which became rather inactive once they stopped cooperating with Excess). To make this less obvious to outsiders, Mendrake just started making up some handles and spread the word that he "joined" Endless Piracy.

"Management" was such a made-up handle, nothing to do with the existing scener using that handle, as far as I know. Skinhead was a member aswell, the way I remember it he was supposed to operate as "Paracrax" (again, no connection with the existing scener using that handle - IIRC). Skinhead actually made Endless Piracy's one and only release.

As for Count Zero: No idea, might have been a typical Mendrake joke :D
