HateBush thanks for the feedback on the interesting Electronica at 6:00 in the video!
That is the SID for the Finale which was missing from the party because I miscalculated the PAL playback time.
I noticed the interesting Fx there too, What is different is that two algorithms are in use instead of one. I hope to explore that Fx more in my next demo!
Raf yes this is really an Atari 2600 program but it will no longer fit on the Atari 2600 unless the code for the algorithms are removed. My last demo Pong Music fit on both:

I'm working on crunching my next C64 demo to fit on the Atari 2600 including the soundtrack algorithms. | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 19 March 2024
When I think about it, I should probably blame the organizers more than the creator, but still why anyone insisted that it should play for 6 minutes I wonder. This or that, with proper gfx and design or at least some kind of storytelling this could have been much more enjoyable. | User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 19 March 2024
A lot of hate for this but, umm, it -was- the 1st Place Commodore 64 demo at Forever24, as is correctly stated on the YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNIGrdEQsvc). It was also the last place, of course, given that it was the only C64 demo release, but let's stick to the positives here.
We shouldn't bash people every time they join our scene, though, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. 5-10 years from now, we could have a new Graham/Oxyron here. It's unlikely, sure, but you never know. | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 19 March 2024
Audience (myself included) had to wait 6 (? or was it more...) long minutes for this "demo" to end in the C64 demo compo. If it was submitted to wild compo, maybe I would be more appropriate. Aki (the C64 compo host) was cruel enough to let it run until the "end" even when we tried to applaud it out of the screen after about painful 3 minutes. Sorry Mr SQL, this is not a production that should be put into demo competition on a party (that is any party), it just made C64 demoscene look like a joke for the other 8-bit sceners that were attending the Forever party. | User Comment Submitted by Hate Bush on 19 March 2024
i loved the total, absolute, pure inadequacy felt each time i'd compare the result to Mr.SQL's description of it. a performative art in itself, to deliver this every time. i'm serious.
however CRACKS APPEAR. here, i'm only 95% disappointed, as the youtube vid has some interesting electronica for several seconds, around 6:00, why? noooooo! :( | User Comment Submitted by Raf on 19 March 2024
This is nearly the same as "demo" submitted to Lost Party in 2023 and I wonder if there is really VCS emulation underneath or is it just trolling around? |
