Well, NOW THIS IS HISTORY! :D | User Comment Submitted by Ksubi on 31 August 2011
Very nice! Looking forward to this release :) | User Comment Submitted by enthusi on 14 April 2011
Depends on your needs.
Easyflash and Ocean are pretty similar but with EF you have 1 MB and can page in 16KB at once - might be nice for speedcode etc.
Ocean however can be used with EF cartridges too. Im optimistic that "some people" will implement easyflash into 1541u sooner or later.
With easyflash you can WRITE to it as well and hence store a savegame which renders EotB a complete Plug'n Play experience. You CAN buy EF cartridges but you cant purchase Ocean cartridges.

I'm for the 512KB cartridge too, gives some work for people to put it on disk. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Mr. SID on 14 April 2011
I'm doing Ocean cartridge stuff at the moment. It's easy enough but things that work in VICE don't work on 1541U (at least not in the possibly dodgy firmware I use at the moment). And EasyFlash support should be mostly a simple compile time option. | User Comment Submitted by WVL on 14 April 2011
easyflash is not (yet) supported by 1541u, but ocean is. Supporting Ocean cart gives you a nice big audience, then again ppl can make easyflash for themselves.. I'd go for Ocean though...
On the other hand : the two types share a lot of properties, so it would be easy to make two versions.. | User Comment Submitted by JackAsser on 14 April 2011
Currently working on an iPhone version and one Java-version and they should be finished in some months.
Doing these I've been fully disassembling the original game and only have a some small parts left of the game to understand.
Got new GUI graphics from Mirage for the C64-version. Also Veto is working on the intro graphics.
When the iPhone and Android ports are finished I have all the info I need to start working on the C64-version again. It's kinda hard to experiment and fiddle on the C64, that's why I did the other ports first.
With all that new knowledge about the game I think it'll be hard to fit even on a C128. EasyFlash perhaps? Ocean cart? What do you think?

I'm currently waking up the graphicians from hibernation. :) | User Comment Submitted by Rough on 13 October 2010
Coolness. This looks marvellous. Hope you finish the project, JackAsser! And then a Diablo C64 conversion. ;) | User Comment Submitted by JackAsser on 19 August 2009
Coding like hell, don't worry guys.
Once I get new graphics I'll release a new preview. Under the hood tons of stuff has happend. Most major is that it's currently C128 only at the moment. When that version is complete I'll consider a C64 version for cart and/or REU or something like that. Vanilla C64 version is out of the question imo unless you make the graphics totally crappy and not even then it's absolutly sure it's possible.
There are no demo projects rolling at the moment, only this. :) | User Comment Submitted by JackAsser on 28 May 2008
It's most definetly not dead, I'm just working on a demo right now. There are updates not released, although those updates are of utmost importance you guys won't be able to tell the difference from this version so... ;D | User Comment Submitted by d0c on 28 May 2008 User Comment Submitted by assiduous on 28 May 2008
is this still in development ? | User Comment Submitted by Optimus on 28 May 2008
Wow! Just discovered this one. I am a big fan of EOB series. The nice C64 grays goes quite well with this level, the movement speed is ok and I hope I can play oneday too :) | User Comment Submitted by jailbird on 7 February 2007
The labyrinth is just too confusing for my humble mind but it looks awesome! Keep up the good work! | User Comment Submitted by Ed on 4 December 2006 User Comment Submitted by WVL on 17 August 2006
enthusi : but the 'dune II preview' was just 2 static pictures... You can actually crawl through the complete level 9 dungeon here. | User Comment Submitted by Cobra/Samar on 17 August 2006
Wow.It's very cool preview. I waiting when game the finish. | User Comment Submitted by enthusi on 16 August 2006
reminds me a bit of that Dune2-"preview" :)
Anyway, would be nice to see soemthing 'big' again
Edit: I must say I am impressed knowing why/how it's done now.
So I withdraw my Dune2-scepticism :) | User Comment Submitted by Dior on 15 August 2006
eye of the beholder on the c64? Wow ... . . | User Comment Submitted by hollowman on 15 August 2006 User Comment Submitted by Twoflower on 15 August 2006
Kind of nice vibe - let's just hope it ends up in something nice aswell. Reminds me a little about that Dungeon Master preview which surfaced some 10 years ago. | User Comment Submitted by Iapetus/Algarbi/Wood on 15 August 2006 User Comment Submitted by d0c on 15 August 2006
this looks great!, please finish it! | User Comment Submitted by Kenho on 15 August 2006

great stuff, can't wait for it to be finished :) (and to get my hands dirty by writing some nice monster-zoom code ;D) | User Comment Submitted by Oxidy on 15 August 2006
This got potential. I truly hope the finished game will see the light of day. | User Comment Submitted by JackAsser on 15 August 2006
The release date was set to december 31, 2007 meaning that it will be released sometime in the future. But after flames from radiantx and iopop I've changed the release date to the today's date. | User Comment Submitted by Radiant on 15 August 2006
Was this preview really released on Dec 31, -1 years ago? :-P | User Comment Submitted by A3 on 15 August 2006
