I grew up to appreciate the simple programs, which just set pixels…

Like Drazpaint (which on a real set always bugged) or
The Dolphins FLI paint (which still is horrible and does not allow a change of $d021, well it does accomplish rasterbars in FLI) and
FLIgraph (which after all probably have the worst handicap zoom ever, made for graphic artists with -3.0 on the eyes).

:) Indeed for about 2 years i must have spent a large amount of my life looking at that menu.

i still think it has the best menu layout of any c64 art app. i do agree however that a pad was a must. i did about 4 pics with a joystick before buying a pad for £100 ( a fair bit of cash in '86)

There is a Version 2.0 of this software too but i never took to it.

Gosh, no description of short keys in any of the cracks. No docs. Great!
I never fancied this program anyway, but now I can't remember a thing about it.
I guess if one had one of those pads it would have been great.
But like so many others, I had a joystick and got a cracked version early.

Now what I've figured out is that a whole lot of people were using this tool in Europe, despite the fact that it was made in the US,
making the circles looking like squashed melons here. And people used those tools anyway. Amazing!

The color mixing of chessboard dithering and the possibility to have two screens in the memory are still very clever at the time.
Part from the obvious copy/paste at any position and mirroring the image, I guess one had what was needed.
What still puzzles me about this one and for example Adv. Art studio is the fact that there was no helpgrid to the charblocks in multicolor.
People probably went crazy in doing images as they where crumbled all around if one used more than 3 colors at a time ;)
