| In fact iAN CooG, Jazzcat and The MeatBall, as I am actually Sharky also Aka Rocha (Belgium) btw, and co-founder of Oxygen, I would like to set it clear, so that there is no more confusion. Actually Oxigene was the Group me and Feezy (close friend at that time) created. Now Feezy was a close good friends with Witty, also in Role at that time. So we actually started of as Oxigene with only Feezy some of his friends from Role and myself. But short after, Witty wanted in and so it happened that we became Oxygen, correcting the spelling and adding the Australians. Now how did it happen that this is not mentioned anywhere or apparent. Simple, we Belgians actually stopped pretty soon with Oxygen. I moved on and Feezy went on too don't exactly remember which groups we joined after this, but as you can see on his page he was kind of in many groups at the same time. Now Witty was kinda very active with Oxygen Australia, and still one group with us until we stopped in Belgium, but the Australians didn't want to give up their hard work and they where quite happy with the group. So we decided to leave Oxygen to the Australians. That's actually the whole thing. Now I hope you know that Oxigene = Oxygen (Belgium+Australia) and then only became Oxygen Australia only! This is the Australian Oxygen.
OXYGEN was formed when WITTY & FEEZY left ROLE, and SHARKY left EXTASY. It was formed in July 1990. Originally it was called Oxigene but they soon changed name to OXYGEN (original line up had 2 Germans, 2 Belgiums and around 6 Australians). |

Separated logo show from Australian Oxygen and fixed memberships.
They used different naming even inside the same release: Oxygen, Oxigene, Ogene, C02(??) so the confusion is normal =) |
