Mace: sorry, my bad! let's say "1 for the (lack of) effects" instead as there's probably nothing wrong with the actual code =)

Voting 1 for the code?!
Oh noes, there goes my reputation... ;-)

Demo or not. This is a wonderful picture!

not much for a demo but what's there is really nice. Hmm.. 9 for the gfx, 8 for the sound and 1 for the code equals 6 =)

I see great promises with this new group. Smashing trippy music from Psycho... and it's great to see new talents like skurwy on the scene! You really do put great use into hires capabilities. Keep it up, guys!

@Akira K: This is a 'firstie'. A first release for Artstate, that's what Steppe was implying.

...and secondly, to the others, it's an 'artistic' release. Take it as it is!

its a shame Veto didnt add music to his Breath picture- he would have beaten Deus ex Machina by now.

and give me more of this industrial stuff,i totally love it.

ofcourse it is a demo, although having a scroller would make it even more of a demo :=)

I followed the birth of this graphic over at the Pixelation forum, wondered if it would generate a new release.

BTW, it's a demo.

IMHO, it's a demo if it has more than just one 'demo' aspect.

It's not a GFX release if the music was specially made for it.
And saying it's a music release with these stunning graphics would be wrong too, of course.

Creating yet another category would be beyond stupidity... so it's a demo, just like Beverly Hills Cop Demo.

Fun thing is, Psycho and I discussed this issue and we predicted exactly this dicussion :-)
Scene drama is sooo predictable!

Oswald:

Perhaps you are right? More should be expected, but releasing it this way is still way better than releasing just a displayer. Perhaps you shouldn't call this a demo, but i'm glad everytime people are bothered to do package their graphics instead of just wasting them for 5 minutes of show-off-fame.

nice gfx & music.

"Best of it all is probably that this isn't a standalone picture, but that you actually packed it together to a little demo."

urgh, since when does a pic displayer and a music player count as a demo ? a demo needs some codework too. (no a scroller doesnt cuts it) dont lower the bar to such a ridiculously low height.

@Mace - me and skurwy decided to have it that way, just pic and soundtrack. You're our coding slave so you have to listen what we say and be quite :)

But seriously, this is our first production. We're working on something new already,so please be patience. This time it will be improved :)

Thanks for all the comments. We're glad that you like it guys.

I asked Psycho if I could include a itsy witsy puny tiny little bit of a scrolly. Something with a small font, stretching over just part of the screen, in a dark colour somewhere in the corner down below...

He said no!
And he didn't want to wait for me to add some displaying effect too.

Then again, this leaves room for growth ;-)

[edit]
Hahaha... now Psycho is mad at me for pointing this out!
Hey, fine with me, otherwise I would have objected ;-)

i second 2f ... more "gfx releases" should be bundled with an exclusive tune... and perhaps a scroller or something like that :)

A very nice hirespicture - they sky is really jaw-dropping. I'm glad to see this format (multicolor hires) develop in such an awesome way that it has. Nice to see this image grow and change in the wayofthepixel-thread too.

Best of it all is probably that this isn't a standalone picture, but that you actually packed it together to a little demo. Kudos for that! Keep it up!

there are some details that bug me like the square clouds in the top-right corner, but apart from that it's a very nice and interesting picture.

the tune is well trippy :)
