It's just a single parter, but it kicks ass. In 1988, it clearly showed the direction of the future for the C64. Amigas started appearing in our rooms but the C64 would prevail - this is one of those demos that made it crystal clear.

Really nice SID, it doesn't sound like a soundmon tune at all :)

July 1988, I was visiting the FIG HQ at Gallstone's place with FCS by his newly bought metallic blue Datsun Cherry (so cool..), we were checking new stuff on the C64, Rock and Lassuri were playing Bubble Bobble on the Amiga 500...
This got loaded up. Total jawdrop in the room. Everyone stunned.

Truly one of the best and a testament of Kaze's greatness.

Also look at my old demo from 1988 or maybe 1989) were I have combined 7 sprites high "ESCOS" scroller eith SID tune and samples. No sprite stretching there either.
Utopia
You find this in the last part.
There are a lot of demos with similar effects...

Fullscreen + digis is cool. Especially in 1988.

The is no sprite strecthing in either NO or NEW Limits. Kaze painted the chars.

@tlr: I'm really rusty in 64 VIC code, but I think I see your point. Not I even sure how sprite stretching is done, to be honest :)

I remember i could watch this sucker for hours back in the days. Uber nice colors and one of Laxity's best tunes.

That would have been sensational, but no it doesn't. Check the No Limits part at $c000.

Hmm.. Doesn't No Limits use the sprite stretching technique for the full screen sideborder thing?

@HCL: I agree, demos were primarily effect oriented back then. This was thought quite cool and actually quite designed.
Sprite stretching hadn't been found out yet.

This is a follow up to No Limits.

@Devia: This may look like an intro screen, but in 1988 things were a bit different. *Mega Demo* was an unknown word. The effect was (and still is) cool, and there was no time to waste on design and stuff.

Why oh why did kaze waste his best SID on a bloody intro screen.. oh well.. I guess everything seemed inferior to Laxity back in those days ;-)

Prize of the month for the most pretentious scrolltext goes this time to KAZE of TST in his rather good demo called "NEW LIMITS", the coding and music are of a very high level but the scrolltext seems to be written by an even bigger egomaniac than myself...
