Small. But the idea rocks! | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 5 February 2011
Wait a minute. I read in Farbraus that Arsenic will be used for experimental fun stuff and oxyron for the usual quality releases... hmm, something is wrong here... ha! I got you - you are just trying to fool us! ;)
pvcf: a music rewinder sounds quite cool. But I believe it won't work for all SIDs. | User Comment Submitted by Norvax on 3 February 2011
Cool! It is a very good idea to release an old code with such a good presentation. Short, cathcy and interesting. | User Comment Submitted by Cresh on 3 February 2011 User Comment Submitted by pvcf on 3 February 2011
we in reflex discussed this in,hmm, 1994 or 1995 i think, and it was planned to do this only for a musicplayer which can simply rewind a song to any previous played position. it was not supposed to be a demoeffect. | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 1 February 2011
Nice little production, me likey! ;-)
Though I'd like to object: "Original idea of doing it that way came from Quiss/Reflex."
Err, no.. <:-) Crossbow has been doing this for a VERY long time whenever he has a part where the music takes too much rastertime (he calls it a "tape recorder"!), we also use this in BluREU f.ex.. From what I know the first part he used it in was the 136 sprites multiplexer in... err.. where was that? Bubble Tale? Or maybe even earlier, definately back then when he fought sprite multiplexer record battles with SES and Hannes Sommer, somewhere around 1989 IIRC!.. Definately long before Reflex was even born! ;-) | User Comment Submitted by Axis/Oxyron on 1 February 2011
I didnt expect, and feel a bit ashamed, about so many comments, discussions and high votes on this small fun-release. This was never meant to be a worlds-first or even a serious demo. It was originally planned as a joke in a production that never got released and just hanged around on my hd for a too long time.
@Clarence: Yeah, You got it.
@HCL: About the backward music playback. I just grabbed/backuped the output of the soundplayer and restored it reverse. Doesnt sound 100% perfect, but does the job. Original idea of doing it that way came from Quiss/Reflex.

Nice. :)
To me it felt like experiencing again a screen of the old Coma Light series for 20 seconds. The title is also connected, like an opposite of the name of that serie. | User Comment Submitted by HCL on 30 January 2011
Funny :). How did you manage to reverse the music!?!? | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 30 January 2011
"about the football game, it has a replay feature but no rewind. "
check again :) btw I was very excited for a new Oxy demo, but well..., you got me :) | User Comment Submitted by Ninja on 30 January 2011
Skate: Points taken.
PAL: Didn't want to bash this production; WF digging is interesting once in a while, though. Makes you watch old or unknown stuff :)
Somehow, this one doesn't do it for me, though. Still, worth a release. | User Comment Submitted by Metal Maniac on 30 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by Codey on 30 January 2011
pretty cool that it captures the initial screen state when it was run.... | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 30 January 2011
it is a great idea... and a great little show... lets not be all nerds here... first or what ever... it is a cool little production.... hail to oxyron! | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 29 January 2011
if I had asked like "is this a world first?" nobody would answer. this is my shortcut. ;)
edit: i just checked "Ruecktro". i remember that demo. music always play forward and except scroller part, parts play the same direction. about the football game, it has a replay feature but no rewind. so, i think these two examples don't count. but microprose soccer still has these features except sound. | User Comment Submitted by Deev on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by Sixx on 29 January 2011
Perfect timing and well executed. Thumbs up! | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by Ninja on 29 January 2011
skate: I'd think (at least) Ruecktro would count here as world-first? | User Comment Submitted by BHF on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by aNdy on 29 January 2011
I find the logo really appealing. Nice. | User Comment Submitted by netrom on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 29 January 2011
heh - I liked the re-wind effect.
The for some reason, I expected to see more, and had preconceived ideas of the part re-booting in a higher resolution ;D | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 29 January 2011
does its job. :) i think this can be considered as a world first on c64 platform, if we don't count microprose soccer :p | User Comment Submitted by Richard on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by The Shadow on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by tlr on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by Cresh on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by PAL on 29 January 2011
That were great... the strange thing is that I had this idea last week for a part too... and I were to think it out how to create a long part with such an effect, you did it really short and it worked like a charm. Very cool little demo! | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by Viscid on 29 January 2011 User Comment Submitted by wacek on 29 January 2011
