I don't normally crit on anyone's artwork, but this is so close to being a potential "winner" that i feel i have to.

the prior poster was correct thats its lost its atmosphere from the sketch. what you have done is tried to duplicate a section of your drawing and have "zoomed in" too far.
what you needed to do was distil several elements from your drawing and make the c64 landscape art from them.

if it was me these would have been:

the spooky moon and clouds as a skyline in background

make the path far more "windy" going back into the distance. to give the impression of a long way travelled.

put some trees and cliffs in the background leaning over the path to suggest menacing claustrophobia.

the tree trunk on the right of the drawing with the eyes should certainly be in there.

behind the figure on the left should be in darkness with various evil eyes in it. maybe a suggestion of claw reaching out of the blackness.

that would have been my "professional" take on it for a loader.

Don't get lost!! I liked more the handdrawing you did .... because of the horror atmosFEAR :) ... .but also this one is good!
