As it often happens, I agree with groepaz. Don't forget to take a peek on the disassembly:

If there is an interest, somebody already did the reverse engineering:

The visuals are perfect!! Since there are enough non-faithful conversions of the game, I agree that if you name it Pac Man Arcade, the sound effects should be as close to the original as possible too, with the Pac-Man tune and the whakko whakko sound effects. Also having the ghost movements reverse engineered sounds like a good idea. Here's a port with huge potential, and you guys should go all the way. Keep it up!!

Looking very promising... When I looked at it on crt from a real machine I think the gfx look super... I would wish for a super remix music on this game instead of a more sound-a-like as the original i a way... Like really fat tight and with echoes almost in a grand hall... something really more jolly and like super-sid execution... just an idea... The game is so great converted now already so that music could have created a extra level of superbness I think... go totally crazy like inviting 5 music artists to create their Pac Man tune for the game?

We have to cross fingers :) It started as mock-up, then Senbei relocated music and added a partially joystick movement to try how it worx. I hope all this positive feedback will encourage him to goes on :)
