First you make us addicted to these fresh sounds, then you cut them off midway and then you say you wanted it this way - you are a sadist! ;) | User Comment Submitted by c0zmo on 23 March 2016
I'd really like to hear more from you! And of course you have to compete in compos as well, this tune really feels original and fresh. Although it's really over too quick, but I understand what you said about family and work. I use SID-Wizard myself, and someday (TM) I will get myself a decent MIDI interface to edit my tunes.
It was really nice to meet you at Forever, you are a great guy. You were very generous to let us all sleep at your place, including breakfast and stuff. \o/ | User Comment Submitted by spider-j on 21 March 2016 User Comment Submitted by spider-j on 21 March 2016
@onebitman: thx for sharing your thoughts/idead. At least for me it made clearer why I love your stuff :-) | User Comment Submitted by GH on 21 March 2016
"i gave up the ideas of composing tunes to win a compo"
Good! Be youself at all
times and never bend down for the masses;) | User Comment Submitted by 1BM on 21 March 2016
thank you for the kind words guys! some infamous babble from the sleep deprived compuposer himself: one week before the party i fixed a decent 8580 machine, transferred sidwizard to disk and started to create some drafts, eventually one of these drafts became "deafender". initial plans of using a midi keyboard for note input have been abandoned quickly, because it sucked. effectively i had two evenings time to edit it into a releaseable form, family and company also taking their respective time... i see it more as a listenable tech demo (triplespeed looped raspy pwm sounds, no filters, no hardrestart routine at all, first experiments in fast channelswitching...) than a real song and did not want to create "filler" patterns to make it more "entertaining". the flow of patterns in the tune sounded ok to me and all in all it seemed like a nice "wtf was this now? and its over already?" digital way of punk rock, also the "full speed ahead" pattern in the end seemed to work. after all there is a reason why punk songs are short: they are intense and not meant to entertain... and from the "mental" side - i gave up the ideas of composing tunes to win a compo, composing tunes to hit the nerves of people, doing something to get something... it's more fun "being myself" musically and doing things in some new ways i have thought up, having fun creating and expecting absolutely nothing from nobody. after all it's just precisely predefined oscillations pleasantly tickling or hurting in your ears... so enjoy or not :) may my followup tunes be more elaborate. | User Comment Submitted by spider-j on 21 March 2016
What the others already said: seems kind of short. Feels much more like a rough idea. On the other hand: in some parts it has some kind of punkrock feel to it and I do know a couple of bands who would consider everything above 1 min. as "way to long"... ;-)
Moi likes! | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 21 March 2016
I quite like it, it is just a little too short. | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 21 March 2016
Quite intensive finish. Just when I got used to your quite different and noisy style it ended abruptly. | User Comment Submitted by 1BM on 20 March 2016
sorry, .sid only as i don't have the environment to convert it at the moment, will try to add .prg later... also tune is not tagged properly (yet)... |
