Your filename input routine is a little too accepting of input: I can delete the prompt, move all over the screen with the cursor keys, enter filenames of over 16 bytes and even clear the screen ;)

If you checked for 'space' against $DC01, would that do away with your problem?

Didn't test it, but from a quick look at the code it seems quite useful for its niche. You should have fixed the space thingy though.
