Hey Tim. I'm not a fan of tributes/remakes in general, I prefer original works.
for example this intro, even if it comes from my group, I consider it like an ugly ripoff (same as original, with changed gfx): F4CG Intro
however not all tributes are bad, like this is one which is cool: Excell Tribute
also Eco's tune in your intro is cool :)

ZeSmasher, sorry you feel that way..

I can promise you just it’s actually very tricky to do an ode.. for example my ocd kicked in when doing the logo’s, they were fully repixelled by hand, and I took way too many hours pixel analyzing different versions of the original intro’s (which have slight design changes from logo to logo)..

Same goes for the SID, a lot of internal discussion over that one too, fully redone from scratch by Eco.. who opted to make it just that tad less raspy/a bit smoother sound wise than the original, add in a few minor plays on the theme, but still keep it close.

And last but not least, we had two internal versions of the code, as that was redone aswell.

Anyhow, opinions are personal.. but did want to share the huge amount of time and effort that went into this one to do a proper ode intro. :)
