Did Moloch start a trend or is there a bullshit bingo machine producing art critic theoretical blahblah? | User Comment Submitted by Rastah Bar on 10 January 2019
The work is aesthetically resilient and thematically interrelated with material from my personal memory and more general projection into the general viewing population. Here impossible is true and the truth exists, but ... you will need to adjust your viewpoint and expectations. This is not what you think!
The drama unfolds within and between the participants but it is explained over the course of the entirety of the work, which lies just this side of completion. The chiral sides of the interface between reality and that of my inner vision are clearly laid out in a manner that is a pleasure to look at.
The work is presented in several alternative formats. Computerized representations share the space with flat art, and various physical devices. Sensory capabilities of various alternative perceptions, such as color-blindness and monocular vision are addressed through out. | User Comment Submitted by encore on 14 October 2018
Impressive effect, well done! | User Comment Submitted by Rastah Bar on 13 October 2018
Thanks and sorry for the confusion! | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 13 October 2018
ok, on real c64 background is $0b at the sides and $0c in the middle. also until recently it was broken in x64(sc). in current trunk it works as it should. ie: try the next nightly build :) | User Comment Submitted by Rastah Bar on 13 October 2018
Thanks for the suggestion, but that is not it. It is a sprite problem. Btw, I was confused: WinVICE-3.2-x86-r34853-nocpuhist works fine, but the problem occurs in x64sc of GTK3VICE-3.2-win32-r35575. What is particularly strange: the sprites seem to be shown according to MC register $d026, although the castle picture and text are still hires! | User Comment Submitted by TheRyk on 13 October 2018
just guesswork: do you use KERNAL CLRSCR to fill color ram? in some old KERNAL rev there's a bug in that one. no idea, though, why someone should use such borked ROM binary in an emulator | User Comment Submitted by Rastah Bar on 12 October 2018 User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 12 October 2018
Rastah Bar: did you check it on a real C64? | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 12 October 2018
Really great fx, thanks for this one, love it! | User Comment Submitted by Rastah Bar on 12 October 2018
Thanks!
Question about the background color of the sprite scroller:
In Vice 3.0 r32906 (x64 and x64sc), Hoxs 1.0.9.5, Micro 64, and CCSV3.9 the background color is dark grey on the left and right of the screen and medium grey in the middle (this is as intended). Also in x64 WinVICE-3.2-x86-r34853-nocpuhist it is right, but in x64sc of that revision the background is light green on the entire width of the screen. Is that a bug or wrong setting in Vice x64sc or a bug in my code? | User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 11 October 2018 User Comment Submitted by Walt on 11 October 2018

erm if this demo only uses the original GnG loader then i shouldnt be credited, I only did the updated one for Nostalgias "arcade" release. the original 80s one was done by Steve Pickford | User Comment Submitted by Smasher on 10 October 2018 User Comment Submitted by Raistlin on 10 October 2018
You can never have too much purple in a C64 demo. | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 10 October 2018 User Comment Submitted by Rastah Bar on 10 October 2018
Short demo which shows gfx on top of a sprite scroller instead of the other way around. |
