xc8: "To use Retro Replay with browser first load it from MMC64, then
reset, exit to basic with 2*F7, then sys2070. It is not possible
to use RR with autobooting version."

FYI, Sasq's MMC bios have some support for loading multipart games since he overloaded the appropriate kernal vectors involvled. Turbo loaders will ofcourse never work.

macx: yes, unless someone patches those to load from MMC64. If you want 1541 compatibility, you get 1541.

does this mean it will *always* be unable to run a multifiler, like pirates! or coma light 12?

It seems to redirect to correct address just nicely.

No, custom loaders would require cycle-exact 1541 emulation. The closest you can get is Jim Brain's uIEC which simulates C= serial and JiffyDOS protocols.

It *is* possible to patch kernal routines to allow simple load/save to work.

it is really a good thing that it can run files from a .d64, but will it ever be able to "attach" the .d64 and use the MMC64 as some sort of device (ie. being able to run a fullside demo or such)? that is something that would rule the world.

Download URL changed so I don't have to upload every revision in multiple places. Check production notes for new features.
