You have been very clear. I'm glad it's nothing serious. Thanks iAN CooG! | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 10 December 2022
No not really a "problem", first of all it's not a problem in the sid header (which it's not even included in the demo, you're dumping some stats from a .sid file it's not even here)
but the code generated from Goat tracker which is set by Manganoid to write to a "2nd" SID chip at address $d420-38 instead of the main address range $d400-18
It's not really a "problem" per se, on a C64 with just a single sid chip it will emit the tune anyway due to ghost regs, on a c64 with a 2nd sidchip also you would hear it, it's just unusual and also tricks the sid tools into thinking the tune is not actually emitting output =) I always prefer for correctness sake, to patch these sids to write to $d400 prior to adding them to HVSC. | User Comment Submitted by MP Software on 10 December 2022
i read as follows:
SID Data
--------
location=$1000
init=$1000
play=$1003
songs=1
startSong=1
size=$163f
name=Ken Il Guerriero
author=manganoid
copyright=Hokuto Force (2022)
Additional tech data
--------------------
header=PSID
header version=2
flags=100100
speed=0
startpage=0
pagelength=0
is there any problem? | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 10 December 2022 User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 10 December 2022
The tune is writing to $d420-48 instead of $d400, maybe the wrong setting in goattracker was used? There's no point in writing to ghost regs |
