Interesting way to treate the ol’ SID chip :)
Is there a way to make .prg or .sid files?

Sidinity is an experimental SID drone synth and a philosophical challenge with a dash of pseudo-spiritual new age glitter sparkled on top. You can write to the SID hardware registers once and only once, and then you have to let it go. Sidinity plays on forever, as long as at least one of the channel envelopes has a non-zero sustain value.

So, what can you do with it?

- Endless, filtered, detuning, low, 2-3 oscillator drones as remembered from crack intros when memory space was scarce
- Edit SID register contents live, if you wish. But you don't have to, just let it play and breathe
- Use a pair of paddles, or voice 3 envelope/waveform output as modulator
- Filtered noises in every hue: from ocean waves and whistling winds to roaring storms
- Lush ambient chords
- Steadily repeated clicks from very low-frequency square wave or sawtooth
- Groovy repeating clicks from pulse wave with wider or narrower widths
- Syncopated jazz drummer clicks from very low-frequency noise
- Sculpt the clicks into heartbeats, lo-fi bass drums or a crackling fireplace using the SID filter
- Selectively filter only some of the voices to create polyrhytmic patterns from multiple clicking voices
- Fade in some voices for variety, with SID envelopes providing up to 8-second attack and 24-second decay at maximum
- Exotic howling and shrieking from very low-frequency combined waveforms
- Slowly decaying bells crafted with ring modulation
- A wide variety of tone colors with ring modulation and oscillator synchronization
- Crunchy distortion when routing multiple voices through the filter, especially on the old SID
- Save your drone as an executable program

"Here, the composer is but a guide, setting the stage for the endless symphony. Write once, and release your creation into the ether, where it will play forever—a testament to the moment. What sound will you leave in the eternal now?"
