Wrong. There are 8 sprites located from 0800 and forth :-)

Ok, using VICE, enter monitor in the second part (ALT+M) do f 400 7ff 0, exit monitor with X and all the screen is gone!!! Just characters, not sprites! Anyways, I believe back at the time it was made, it fooled many people.
