Digging through this, it's not a protection still there - only a bug in the original game. The effect on the I+T version is ugly flickering. The effect in this version is a crash, as said before.

Hadn't it been for the crash, this would have been a very nice release ...

But I dispute the 101% status. It claims to be fixed in some areas (end sequence but that isn't bugged in the first place) and then leaves a fatal bug still in there. Really not even 100%

the raw crack has the bug already, cracked it again, same bug, took a look at the IkariTalent version, works fine, but saving the entire memory and starting that (unrun of cos) gives the same bug as in my crack, my guess is there is a protection checking for some bytes in the zeropage, but didnt have time to examine that yet

i like that tune a lot too, unluckily its composers is unknown.

played (& also completed) the game several times and it didnt crash, strange.

edit: managed to re-produce the crash, it happens when you move right until you encounter the first door, move left and then go right in the upper level of the screen til the key, pick it up, return to the door, open it, move further right and then pick up the second key... CRASH.

when you get the key first key before facing the first door it doesn't.

pretty weird bug, but I'm not very keen in diving into the code and repair that, maybe another time

Played it twice around 10 minutes each time and had no problems whatsoever. I did however not play with any cheats on.

It crashed here too, when picking up a key.

Nice jewel version. Hopefully there will be more Laser quality cracks in the future.
