This works only partly in X128 because of the VDC-emulation lacking interlace and higher-resolution modes. Also the VDC-palette in VICE is not very pretty. I've taken an actual photograph off my monitor for the first picture to be found at http://www.tokra.de/c128/vdcdemo.jpg

Also I uploaded a .d71 with Graham's suggested changes for monitor-compatibility to http://www.tokra.de/c128/vdcdemo.zip

iancoog.altervista.org/vdcdemo-d71.zip
Added a launch.bat to exectue it, just edit your x128 path and use
launch vdcdemo.d71
from commandline

Just load and run them Oswald, they're self-extracting archives... alternatively, StarCommander with StarTools can look inside SFX files i think?

Just a slideshow of several converted pictures. Doesn't work on all monitors because of non-standard horizontal frequencies.

Resolutions used:

- 160x100 in 16 colors
- 640x360 in 2 colors
- 750x600 (interlaced) in 2 colors

If your monitor fails to display these modes, edit the BASIC code of the loader:

- add this basic line: "135 SYS V,3,36"
- change the first DATA value of line 220 from 7D to 7F
- change the first DATA value of line 230 from 7D to 7F
- change the first DATA value of line 260 from 81 to 7F
