Nice pic, looks like it could be from a superhero comic-book.

Lazy basterd!
Go do something, like Mermaid did! ;-)

Because it takes more time to add a loader, transitions, syncing and generally mixing stuff together.

i like the style! and i like the fact that mermaid keeps on doing really fine stuff in multicolor, which to me is the most natural mode on c64 one can use. and it's so easy to display - even in demos ;)! no excuses for you coders not to team up with mermaid for a fancy production! multicolor leaves enough resources free to fill with some good codework. :D

@ Optimus: why don't you grab some graphics from Mermaid and music from Britelite and add some effect from yourself to slam together a demo? ;-)

Indeed! Several times I just wished to optimize one effect and throw it somewhere in some scene site. But somehow it won't be the same than doing a full blown demo with it. Somehow it "has" to be a demo. While I am just obsessed with my single coded effect that I am not allowed(?) to release :P (The curse of the coder? :)

Come'on Vanja baby, you are a grown up girl!
You know people love your stuff more than they think it's a waste there's no code around it. So take the comments with courage ;-)

(I foresee demos with previously released stand-alone graphics and music in the very near future...)

I think many demos these days have a concept just because you "have" to, which makes it feel a bit forced. There's a lot of charm in the haphazardly put together fx/music/picture shows of yore as well, so why not just stop caring about consistent themes etc, if all it does is make you less productive? :-)

Very nice to see this style in your recent pictures. And I'm with HCL. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone willing to put some time into a Vanja slideshow alternatively recruit you for a secret evil demo project.

Look, there's even this Swedish guy who volunteers to do the music for it.

The picture: I like the action aspect of this, and the rough style fits the motive I think.

@HCL: Speaking for myself here, I quite like the mix where you get to see standalone pictures like this as well as good gfx in good demos. Not all pics fit in demos either for that matter. The design element is important in good demos these days, but with standalone gfx releases you can experiment and do whatever you like. Logos are different though. They should always be accompanied by something more I think.

@Vanja: Yeah, I vote for that!

Seriously, is it really that hard to code something alt. find someone to code something that shows some pictures + maybe something more!?! If so, it makes me sad.

Looks like you yourself got a team of 3 coders :) HCL, RadiantX and Mace - gogo girl!

Okay, I guess I should stop uploading my pictures to csdb, and then the next time you'll see my C64 graphics will be when I release another unfinished demo preview with shitty code and music that will make your ears bleed, 7 years from now. That works.

Inspiring stuff, but also what RadiantX and HCL say. Same goes for music.

I second HCL. Nothing wrong with doing some coding as well as pixelling.

Very Nice! I just wish that all these tons of beautiful gfx that are thrown out here on CSDB were used in demos instead.
