After playing the crack for many, many months, I finally paid up for a digital copy of the game.
Well done Richard! I really hope the quality of this release is a sign of things to come in the future ;) | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 6 August 2009
I like the background fx in the main menu! ;-) Quite fresh! And I swear i just saw this game for the first time and the loader screen in CSS was NOT inspired by this, classic case of people having similar ideas totally independantly! ;-D | User Comment Submitted by Archmage on 4 January 2009
I just bought the deluxe edition of this game. Making a commercial game for the c64 in 2008 is so nuts that such a project deserves support. But really, I think the game is pretty good too. Love the gfx and of course DRAX' great music. "A game worth playing is a game worth buying" and so on and so forth. Now please hand me my laurels. | User Comment Submitted by FMan on 31 December 2008
Finally! This is what everyone has been waiting for holding their breath. Indeed confusion about what is going on and I was kinda left hoping for a turboloader, but there are some nice ideas there and good graphics so I am sure I will be liking this once I get some more playtime. :)

@wile coyote ... Haha, you've gotta be kidding ;) Not a chance, you might see some slight improvement, but not much I doubt! Robin was and is a superb artist, I was only ever mediocre as one! (Perspective was always a favourite of mine ;) ).
I might be doing/re-doing City Bomber next with Jon Wells, so hopefully there will be *some* improvements to be seen. | User Comment Submitted by Scout on 25 December 2008

@Richard: Great present for us to Christmas, I absolutly ignored the crack of this game because the people that cracked that game have the scene betrayed in my eyes, we have not 1986 anymore where alot of software companys release hundreds of games, we must stay together and when somebody support the C64 scene with games than we must support this.
The game is one of your best games Richard and I enjoy playing it. The music is also great, Drax did as always a good job. | User Comment Submitted by fgasking on 24 December 2008
You're right - a lot is inspired by other bits and bobs. All should be documented in the intro - but the IO'ness of the panel was unintentionally inspired :)
The Psytronik logo though was deliberate as a Ocean loader tribute (Which the tape version makes more apparent).
Sub Hunter isn't a great showcase of new graphic ideas by any means (Well, its pretty shit to be honest) - though with future stuff I will be trying to seek inspiration only in shading/texturing styles rather than whole entities!

Fair enough Groepaz. Thanks anyway ;) | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 24 December 2008
and i've changed it back. download links should always point directly to the file and not to some whacky download script thing.
(and if you release something, it will end up on csdb, live with it) | User Comment Submitted by Richard on 24 December 2008
We originally discussed this about the game release. It was okay for us to release the game for people to download. Besides this was the original planned date.
@Groepaz: I have changed the .D64 download to the link on c64.com. This wasn't meant to have been added on to CSDB but thanks anyway ;) Have a nice Christmas :) | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 24 December 2008
I am confused. What do Psytronik think of this? Xmas - the spirit of giving!! ;)
