It's okay :) Yeah the drums are less crisp on a 8580R5. Heh from now on I only do 6581 flavour :) | User Comment Submitted by booker on 22 September 2009
Well, there are noticeable differences, mostly on the drums, and a bit on the bass (less crispy). The leadish part after 3 mins (again different on old SID) weren't probably played anyway (time limit!)

sorry, your nick actually made me automagically put it as 6581 to the compo, despite your clear message ;) though fortunately after listeting to it on both sid chips under emu (I mean 6581r4ar - as in my real c64 used on the compo + second one with 8580) the difference in sound is not heavily noticeable, mainly bass being softer on 6581 ;) | User Comment Submitted by Xiny6581 on 21 September 2009
Actually it's supposed to be 8580. A bit strange for a 6581 guy to bend the waves for 8580. So it's right, just as the e-mail I sent Raf :) | User Comment Submitted by booker on 21 September 2009
@Xiny, I hope the P64 screenshot saying 8580 is just a flag-mistake because we played this one with 6581 at the compo. |
