4col in multi, and 2 col in hires. The top two pics are using all the tricks in the book. In charset mode you can have 5 colors as the topmost bit of the char nr acts as an attribute, so the pic is in charset mode, and probably using also per raster color changes + the sprites can be used for extra colors (also in a weird way like amiga bitplanes, but more restricted and complicated than tha) So achieving pictures like that on a machine which can normally display only 4 cols is nothing short of ammazing. (the bottom 2 pics are from a 16bit atari I guess) | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 21 September 2010
On a second look, the Floris pic really is quite different, dunno why that sprung to mind... But those Atari pics are simply amazing, especially the top two, I don't think there's anyone on c64 except for Mirage, Mermaid and Archmage that can do black outlines in MCol quite like this!... Awesome shading, too! ;-) I want moar from that guy! ;-D
What's with the hires pics? I thought Atari (800 XL i assume, since there's multicolor?) could only do 4col hires with Displaylists/Rasterbars - and some quite limited sprites. | User Comment Submitted by The Human Code Machine on 21 September 2010 User Comment Submitted by PAL on 21 September 2010
WOW... very nice images... I will move on to the Atari scene now... it is retro and give you more space... bye all! | User Comment Submitted by booker on 21 September 2010
DeeKay: naah, different styles.. Have a look for other Piesiu's pics on A8 and A16. You'll see instantly.

DeeKay: There is one similarity -- both are skillful graphics artworks. ;]
-Ohh.. and thanks for reminding me to vote for that sweet picture by my real life colleague and teammate, not much of his work made it to CSDb. | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 20 September 2010
DeeKay: there is absolutely no simularity of the image you posted in my mind... this one is very crafted and holds a different composition, pixel skills and color combinations and the works and is just plain something totallt different... do not understand that post of yours... interesting it is but do not see your point here... at all... | User Comment Submitted by Steppe on 20 September 2010 User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 20 September 2010

besides the great composition & technique I find it ammazing that the colors are used so that they remember me to the atari palette :) | User Comment Submitted by daison on 20 September 2010
